Default Taylor Hall out 4 weeks with knee injury

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=434740

kid is just too reckless for his own good. Hell of a player but his career will be cut short if he keeps getting injured.

The Oilers were already in big trouble and will miss Hall big time. I wonder if the Oiler doctors will try to rush him back.

I hardly think that this injury has anything to do with him being reckless on the play.

On this particular play it's debatable.

But I find the way he skates with his legs so far apart all the time, he is going to get his legs clipped more often - whether accidental or not.

I don't wish injury on anyone, but I have to say that I think he will get more than his share of knee injuries - especially when you combine his skating style with his propensity to turn into the middle of the ice.

(though I hope not)

I suppose the question becomes, are these conditioning issues (i.e. is he injury prone) or are they a result of bad luck?

Hmm after how this season is going for my pool, I think I'm going to pick nothing but Oilers and Canucks from now on. We won't have to worry about any of them getting points again!

The obvious answer for Hall and this team is more space clearing

Poor Hall can't catch a break. Sad that a good player like Hall always happens to get injured but happy at the prospect that the Oilers are going to get even worse

You obviously haven't been in the Jason Gragor thread. Oilers are haunted.

tough luck for the oilers. With lengthy injuries to rnh, gagner, and now hall, tough for any team to work thru this, nevermind when you have a lousy management group altogether like that which exists in Edmonton.

Pretty innocent looking play, so tough break for the kid.

Too bad. The more these long injuries happen, the bigger chance there is it will derail his development. At his age, you can't really aford to have him out too often. Not good to happen to a future Calgary Flame...

^Don't know about that; depends if they're serious in saying that they don't care much about forwards playing out of position.

Honestly 4 weeks is way shorter than I was expecting, seeing the video of what happened. I figured ACL was gone.

The side impact makes me think it could be damage to his meniscus which should take 4-6 weeks.

Damn, I had RNH in the 'which oiler will miss the most games this season' pool. Oh well, the season is still early!

I wonder if this will change his status for Team Canada. I'd say he was on the bubble right now, but he might not make it if he only has a few weeks to prove himself before the team is chosen.

This will reduce the number of giveaways and bad passes by a zillion.

The guy is talented, but I still don't think he has a great hockey IQ

I'd say the best case scenario is he gets selected, but Oilers management doesn't allow him to go, causing irreparable contempt between the parties resulting in the Oilers dressing room being torn apart.

Who cares if he's injured now. The main question is will he be fully healed for the Oiler 1st overall draft celebration on Whyte!!??
