Make it 25. Two goals in the past three games since this thread was created.

Well done OP -- these kinds of threads continue to deliver

Personally I think he's been as good in our own zone as he has in the offensive and like Flash mentioned above Gulutzen has him skating the entire length of the ice, from one net to the other. Looks great IMO. Has he gotten his license this season? Is he a driver yet?

Fine I'll start the Johnny thread already so he can get 20/60, enough nagging!

If Monahan could ever start a season on fire 40 goals should be easily attainable. Seems to take him a while to hit his stride as he was pretty terrible for the first few months of the season but like last season he's finishing strong.

The start of next season might be the time we finally have a good start. No contract drama, no missing training camps, no new coaches, no new systems etc etc.

That really seems to be the next step in his development. He had a nice rookie season with 22 goals 34pts in 75 games. He blew up in his sophomore year for 31 goals and 62pts. The next 2 seasons will end up similar to his breakout year but he hasn't taken the next step in terms of offense. Not saying that is a bad thing. Monahan has improved his faceoffs and has been better away from the puck this year. He has scored 25 this year so far after 27 last year. He had the career high in points with 63 last year and has 52 with 7 games to go this year.

Monahan could continue to go for 30 goals and 60 points every year and have a wonderful career but I do think he has the ability and potential to get to 40-80 as he gets closer to his prime years

Sean Monahan was drafted in 2013.

There have been 1,475 players drafted since and including 2010.

5 of those 1,475 have scored more goals than Monahan's 105.

1 is from 2011 (Landeskog - 115 in 108 more games)

The other 4 are from 2010 (Seguin - 188 in 189 more games; Skinner - 173 in 176 more games; Hall - 150 134 more games & Tarasenko - 140 in 19 more games).

If there is a game coming up where he can pot 2-3, it should be tonight against the Avs. Then, all of a sudden, 30 is certainly within reach.

Didn't he have back issues to start the last 2 seasons?

Three goals in three games. It would be awesome too since it's against California teams
