Gordie Howe is dead and would have been close to 90 today. Does it really matter how he played 40-50 years ago?

I'm so glad Stone wasn't more injured that he turned out to be.

This reminded me of one of my favorite quotes of all time from the movie Cobb with the amazing Tommy Lee Jones. Unfortunately I couldn't seem to find a video clip.

Louis Prima: With all the great players playing ball right now, how well do you think you would do against today's pitchers?

Ty Cobb: Well, I figure against today's pitchers I'd only probably hit about .290

Louis Prima: .290? Well that's amazing, because you batted over .400 a... a whole bunch of times. Now tell us all, we'd all like to know, why do you think you'd only hit .290?

Ty Cobb: Well, I'm 72 ####ing years old you ignorant son of a bitch.

It was similar. Just Gio didn't go into the fetal position.

I can't wait for Tkachuk to make Doughty his bitch again in the next two matchups.

who cares, even if he gets a game it was worth it...Doughty is as dirty as they come. Constant stick work, maybe this makes him think twice

Back to the dominating win against a team fighting for their lives

On the Tkachuk hit. Who gives a ####? Why are Flames fans spending so much time trying to hang the kid? Ok, it was an elbow. It was dirty. Doughty is fine and Tkachuk is a Flame!

We just kicked LA's ass in our biggest game of the season. OUR team looks great. Why spend so the whole PGT trying to indict one of our best players.

Finally we got a player that other teams love to hate. Dirty or not he does an effective job of getting under the skin of opposition players. His dad is probably grinning for ear to ear saying "That's my boy!"

Not exactly. Oilers had 41 wins in 2005/6 and 2007/8. But that's it. They haven't won more than 1/2 their games since 1987/88. That to me is almost more impressive as suckitude as their 10 years out of the play-offs.

Give Doughty credit for owning up to his part in the fiasco. This time it bit him in the behind and he knows it!
