They kept bumping into the black line; a little above or a little below...they were always close for 3/4 of the season.

Last year's team was all over the map, rarely being close to their (ultimate) average pace. There was really no point during last season where you could have accurately extrapolated a "pace" and come up with the right result. Unfortunately, this year's snake looks similarly inconsistent so far. Until we start to see them develop a consistent trend, all the snake says to me right now is "could go anywhere!"

I'm glad the recent trend is UP. But when I see about 20+ games that actually fit a straight line fairly well...then I'll feel comfortable starting to extrapolate.

The huge difference between last year's run and the present one is how they have looked on the ice.

Not that it means much in itself, but the next 3 weeks are this team's best chance to cross the green line, by way of that epic losing streak in December 2014

I really hope they can take this streak to 7 or 8 and get nice and snug against that black line. Heck, not even wins, but just keep picking up points. They've done that in 5 straight now.

Then from that point on it's just focusing on winning 2 of every 3 on average.

I'd offer to hook a snake up with some ED pills, but it looks like a snake is getting it up pretty well on its own.

I wore my Giordano jersey tonight to inspire the Flames to win #5 in a row. It worked. Hopefully I can wear my Gaudreau jersey in 8 more games for further inspiration. After 30 games the Flames are 15-13-2. They are now within 3.122 points of the black line, which is the closest it's been since after game #10. The red snake could cross the black line with 4 more victories in a row, giving them a 9 game winning streak.

The red snake has gained 6 points in the last 3 games on the green snake, and now sits 4 points back. This was the last time the green snake was above the black line until after game #52. The red snake could tie the green snake would wins in their next two home games (Winnipeg 13-14-3 and Tampa Bay 14-12-2). The red snake has managed to stay above the purple snake, even with the purple snake's 7 game win streak.

It looks like the Flames regularly have winning streaks at this time of year

Buy a Wideman jersey, and then if that works a Brodie jersey...

For the team.

I think I'm going with Monahan, as 2*3=6 for Saturday. Brodie has already been purchased. Anyone have a Nik Grossman jersey laying around for next Friday's game?

You saw what happened tonight when it looked like the Flames were looking past their opposition. Have to work for each and every win and can't get too comfortable. Can't get lazy just cause they're suddenly hot ####.

I liked the result tonight but some of those 60 minutes were pretty ugly.

Laine is going to bury a few on them if they do that on Saturday.

I don't know, I take it as a positive that the Flames are beating teams that play very different styles. Dallas plays wide-open, run and gun hockey and we beat them. Arizona plays boring, lull you to sleep, trap hockey, and we beat them. Anaheim plays a balanced, heavy game and we kicked their butts.

Learning to win different sorts of ways and different sorts of games is an important step to being a contender.

Prophetic?

Weird that our Red snake has yet to cross either lower purple barrier or upper green barrier.

Lately you don't post like much of a fan of the Flames. I don't get it when we are doing so well to date?

Any chance you'll be getting a Sam Bennett (#93) jersey? I'd like to see 93 wins in a row please.
