Bummer. Not surprised though.

So does he get a suspension if they officials would have penalized him in the game?

I still love tkachuck, he's exactly what this team has been missing for years. Let the kid rest for the playoffs

Matthew Tkachuk receives a 2 Game suspension from NHL pertaining to hit on Doughty. Expect Flames to call up a player from AHL.
Roger Millions @RogMillions
They have Freddie Hamilton waiting to play but will likely call up a player in case of injury etc.

This league is such a joke.
Rookie on small market Canadian team hurts superstar from big American market. Only surprise here is that Doughty finished the game and Tkachuk still got something.

It was the right call.
He'll come back with a nice big chip on his shoulder too I'm sure.

2 games seems a bit much. Mostly likely because it's the Flames.

Can't say I'm surprised but the inconsistency is annoying.

Probably more of a cumulative 2 games really. There's no doubt that all the borderline plays he's had this season took a toll. In a vacuum it's unlikely he would get 1.

Good lesson for Matty, was a dirty elbow and I think him getting away with a couple questionable calls earlier in the year probably tacked on a game.
No biggie, Lazar gets to grow into the fabric of the team a bit more and ultimately there are positives to this for Tkachuk and the team to take away.

Would love to see Janko play alongside Backlund and Frolik. His name starts with an M too!

Presumably. 2 games seems about right.

Powerplay Quarterback
I am honestly awaiting for the time when a suspended player turns around and sues the league for suspending them when they can show evidence of other players doing the exact same thing and nothing happens, i.e. Taylor Hall, Malkin, every check thrown by Alex Edler for 10 years.
Two of these happened within the last month and the players received no discipline at all. Now that the precedent has been set the NHL Player Safety has to suspend every guy that does the same thing.

I thought it would be one game. Two is fair for his actions.
That said, why other players get away with similar actions is beyond me.
