The Coyotes will probably ask the league to refund the waiver fee they paid to claim him. That or up ticket prices $10 a head next game to get the money back.

NHL teams only tolerate drug addiction that can lead to lifelong debilitation if it means you are getting on the ice to play. Then you can turn a blind eye and you can implicitly encourage it.

You can also turn a blind eye if the player is good. You cannot turn a blind eye if the player sucks. Those are the rules.

Ken Holland is hyperventilating right now at the thought of giving another player a second chance.

Yeah but it would have also been made available to Ruzicka's 14k other followers as well (and anyone else with an Instagram account since his profile is not private), which I have no doubt includes several of the Flames players and prospects.

Eh, hopefully they do. This isn't Kane or Perry bad. It is someone who made a mistake with a common drug in the NHL.

Hopefully, Rosie rebounds from this. The Flames locker room sure had a lot of personal issues it seems.

I'm also not sure how to feel about the Flames 2017 draft now:
Valimaki, Ruzicka, Fischer, Joly, Sveningsson.

Formenton, and Skinner were picked with the 2nd and 3rd we traded.

It strikes me that AZ really jumped the gun here. The Assistance Program exists for a reason. Surely a snap termination undermines that purpose.

Honzek is a suggested follow. You are creating a narrative that doesn't need to exist

He'd make about a fifth of his NHL salary in the Slovak Extraliga.

Jesus man. Arizona doesn't need to look like a bigger joke franchise than they already are.

If this happened with the Flames, I can’t imagine that they wouldn’t meet with him today and potentially go through the players assistance program if Ruzicka was on board for that.

Could be a mutual decision?

Or Ruzicka rejected treatment?

Even if he was a Teamster working a loading dock somewhere, his union would go to bat for him.

I say call in Big Erne to have a closed door chat with the team just to reinforce some ground rules.

I thought unconditional waivers could only be used if both parties agreed. So maybe Ruzicka okay with it.
