IIRC a lot of organizations will immediately have the player check themselves into the NHL player assistance program in order to reduce negative optics in these situations. I wonder if that was even provided as an option to Ruzicka.

Either way, what a stupid way to destroy your career.

I guess there won't be a "Legend of Adam Ruzicka" thread then?

Documenting yourself doing Blow as a professional athlete in a public forum where everyone can see it was probably not the most astute of career moves.

I am not social media savvy, but from what other people are saying, you can can make videos private so only select people can see them. It seems like Ruzicka might have accidentally posted it publicly.

It is kind of concerning that the video shows that Honzek follows him and may have been one of the intended recipients of this video.

Really? I had not heart those two stories before now. Pretty disgusting.

Meh, both Slovaks and both on the same team. I doubt Sam is following for the quality of the content.

This is from multiple people who were with the org in Stockton: it was not a good place to have young players in terms of habits like this

But hockey players have never really been known for brains (mostly).

I don't think that's what it shows. I'm pretty sure whoever took the screengrab doesn't follow Ruzicka and on Instagram, if you visit someone's profile you do not follow, it gives you a "Suggested for you" option which lists out other similar accounts you may be interested in. I'm pretty sure that is the only reason Honzek's account is showing up in the video.

Edit: although Honzek and Ruzicka do appear to follow eachother, I don't think this indicates any connection of Honzek to what Ruzicka was doing

Did he decline to enter the league's assistance program? Wouldn't that be procedure?

How is it a stretch to suggest that someone he obviously knows and follows him may have been someone who was meant to see the video? Maybe he was or wasn't, but it seems like an obvious possibility.

If this stuff offends you I hate to break it to you but that behavior (which doesn’t offend me personally) is widespread in the sport.

Stoll didn’t get “caught”. The team got caught and he took the blame because he is the richest and the closest to retirement

Honzek inclusion on the app is a suggestion for the user to follow. Not an intended recipient...

Its a sad video really... alone...doing drugs, posting for some apparent connection.

SMH, how do these idiots end up in AZ?

I am not saying that Honzek would be connected, just that it would have been made available to him even if the video was meant to be private.
