I wonder if Ruzicka asked to be put on waivers so he could have an opportunity else where. He's been up and down the lineup and maybe needs a fresh start.

Don't like it.
Desimone>>> Oesterle.
Ruzicka is not a 4th liner. He needed a bigger opportunity to play in the top nine, and he's honestly better served on the wing where he doesn't have to compete as much. Chicago should absolutely be claiming this guy. The skillset is evident.

He had the opportunity on the Flames and then faded. He either just doesn't really care or his fitness isn't good enough to be consistent.

If Ruzicka gets claimed, I could see it being a team like Chicago or San Jose… teams with cap space and the spots available to give Ruzicka a look for themselves.

If he's claimed, this won't be the last time Rucizka finds himself on waivers. He just can't find the consistency needed to be effective in the NHL.

DeSimone over Oesterle? Really?
Oesterle sucks so much.

Ruzicka will be learning to speak Chicago shortly.
Gotta say I think this is a mistake. Ruzicka can be an effective top 6 guy. Although I think he might just be a “bad team” scorer.

I wish Ruzicka all the best, he is definitely too good for the AHL.

Rosie might as well be 5'9" with how he plays. Disappointed he hasn't taken another step forward.
Oesterle might be the worst D-man in the league this year.

Bigger opportunity? That ain’t the issue with Adam.
Gifted a lot of PP2 time and hasn’t made an impact this year when he was moved up in the line-up. He just doesn’t have consistency and compete required for the NHL.
Would be surprised if he isn’t Europe bound after this contract.

I highly doubt that. He could wallow in the AHL for the remainder of his career - if he wanted a better opportunity all he had to do was show he deserved it. He couldn't do that, so he's on waivers.

So same as our other centers except they won't have the hattrick.

Not to hijack, but here was a good read on him last month:

Adam Cracknell is still going.
Why? Because he can, and he wants to.
The Henderson Silver Knights forward is the oldest player in the American Hockey League this season at 38. He logged his 700th AHL game on Nov.3, and has skated in 1,166 regular-season and playoff games since beginning his pro career in 2006. Part of a rapidly shrinking group of 1980’s-born players, he signed up for his 18th pro season on a one-year deal with Henderson in July.
|
Cracknell is the last player from the Quad Cities era playing pro hockey I believe.
EDIT: beat by Reg by 2 minutes!

Not worried about losing either player. Ruzicka clearly passed by other people. If he clears he will help the wranglers and maybe earns his way back up.
If he gets claimed, it would be disappointing. However, for what he has brought this season, you can literally get a similar or better from any free agent or similar type player on waivers.
