How is Coronato doing?
Didn't see a thread in back burner but some of the Wrangler thread was talking about him piling up the points.. Would love to see this guy back with the flames soon.. As Duehr and Ruzicka and Dube aren't doing anything, get this guy back up!

He's been doing a lot better of late. I still think he's a half-step behind the play at times and is a bit too reliant on the rush for his offence but his shot is out of this world. With a little more experience and sturdiness on his skates I see a lot of Cammalleri there.

Cammalleri didn't play full time in the league until he was 23yrs old. Will we be that patient?

Maloney mentioned intermission that they think he is playing pretty good right now and want bring him back in when the opportunity comes up. It's just hard right now because Zary and Pospisil and established themselves now, so you have to wait for an injury or trade.

Most of the goals he scored came either on 2 on 1s, or breakaways.
His shot allows him to beat goalies clean short side, as he streaks down RW.
If the goalie has to move because of a pass to Coronato, his quick release doesn't let the goalie setup and usually ends up in the back of the net.
I think he can blow the zone a bit early in an attempt to get some of those breakaways.

Leave him where he is, let him find his development and confidence in a winning environment.

He's getting time on the PK too. Trent Cull has a lot of faith in him.

Music to my ears for the long term.
If one watches Huberdeau highlights from Panther days.
Many of his highlight assists were in transition with a behind the back pass or other to a streaking RW with a great shot!
Now we just need to find the two of them a center. Zary?

I have not watched any full games of the wranglers this year but I try to watch the highlights posted on their website. He seems to show up in a lot of them. I was surprised how many times he shows up making nice plays/passes rather than just shots. His skating looks solid and his shot looks elite though.
In a side note… Pettersson also shows up in a lot of highlights. They seem be clicking well together.

Likely would've started the season in the A had it not been for the Pelletier injury.

I have seen a handful of live games and Coronato sticks out big time, in a good way
Even in games with the likes of Shane Wright and other top end picks and prospects involved...he looks like one of those

You can bet that he wasn't happy about being sent down, but he has responded just like you would hope he would. It's only a matter of time until he is in the NHL and doesn't look back.

I think this is my take as well.
The guy has done nothing but take every bit of adversity and make it in to something positive.
He's done exactly what you'd hope after being sent down.
Yes his foot speed might not be the best, but his skating kind of reminds me of Kessel, another guy who couldn't skate but could still be effective and put up huge goals for years.
He can also work on skating, I'm not convinced he cant fix it.

For every good play he makes, he will make poor plays and mistake where the play is going/turn over. While he can usually get through into the other zone, lately I have seen more times he turned over trying to get in the zone by himself, while another player is open.
He has all the skills to be a force, but he needs the knowledge and mentorship to build the plays and bring the other players around him up to his level, I am sure everyone agrees that his trajectory would be as a leader to a team.
People calling for him to be a Flame full time will be the same people that want him burned at the stake when he does not produce what they expect.

So.... he's doing okay?
I don't watch Wranglers but he looks to be a great prospect. He just needs to convert those results into the NHL. There is something missing when he is in the NHL but we don't need him to jump into the NHL right now and produce like a 1st liner.

True. Hopefully he can get some more games in this year but it’s fine if he gets to keep dominating in the AHL and gets some playoff experience with the Wranglers. To be fair to him though, he has still had some great scoring chances in pretty much every game of his brief call ups. Has hit a few posts, missed a few nets and got robbed a couple times. I’ve seen flashes of his skill set and he’s been aggressive on the forecheck on the big club. The conversation on him would be very different on him if 2-3 of those chances went in.

Agreed.
Zary has had better puck luck and is now considered an NHLer.

Shorthanded goal tonight vs. the Manitoba Moose.
Nice to see him deployed on the PK unit.
