Just got enough candies to get a level 20 Pupitar from my Larvitar hatch (two hatches in a row + two wild). Another 88 candies to go for that one before I get a Tyranitar. I think at the rate malcolmk14 plays though you'll beat me to it.

Still candy mining my buddy for a Gyarados lol. Only 184 left there.

I managed to catch a Mareep at St Mary's University yesterday.

I have so far been unlucky in my Egg Hatching, mostly Gen 1 hatched so far. I think only Pineco so far. (I've also caught a better Pineco).

There's an app I downloaded for iOS called Poke Genie that gives you IVs for your stuff without having to log in. What you do instead is take a screenshot of each Pokemon you want to get the IVs for and then tell the app to scan them. It'll read the position of the power arc thing, name of the Pokemon, some other stuff. You can then tell it what the in-game appraisal says about it to narrow the range. So far it seems to work for me quite well. The auto-scanning of screenshots is pretty good, it tracks what screenshots you've scanned and not scanned, and it can delete screenshots that you're done with. Keeps a nice sortable list for you. Pretty neat.

Have you been getting evo items? Just curious since after I got a sun stone on first 7th day bonus there has been no more evo items. Starting to be a bit annoying since no matter how many stops I grind through there is nothing to be had and subsequent 7th day bonus yielded nothing. So much for saving candies for those gen 2 evolutions haha;

I heard Niantic substantially decreased the evolve item probabilities after the last migration.

So my wife figured out one of these GPS spoof apps and has been having a blast catching pokemon in different places. I told her to be careful as they will ban you if they catch on. Are they still looking for this and banning people?

Regularly yes, the account is usually flagged and is banned in a wave prior to big releases. Sudden big jumps in position that are not physically possible are consistently caught. But it's a constant battle between spoofing and niantic, maybe she won't get flagged... who knows.

I have 2 king's rocks, and nothing else. Every other item would let me evolve something new, but I don't have enough Slowpoke or Poliwag candies to use Kings Rock.

One I got from my first 7th day bonus pokestop, and the other one I got randomly at a pokestop.

It sounds like Niantic has disabled accounts of some minor spoofers, so I'd probably recommend not doing it at all.

Some details on trading. Apparently requires you to physically be close the player you are trading with

“[Trading] won’t be through the internet,” he said of the mechanic, which remains in development and heavily under wraps. “You shouldn’t be able to exchange your Pokémon with someone who is 100 miles away from you. ... The person needs to be in your proximity.”

Opened up Pokemon Go at the table this morning while I was drinking my coffee and there was a Dragonite at a stop a couple blocks away! Put on my shoes and raced over, caught a 2886 CP Dragonite!
