When you hear impressions of the "game" being mentioned in the story, it's interesting how much most people seem to dislike it. I haven't heard one person say it was an enjoyable experience. You don't generally get that in standard games. For example, PT has been described by many as the most frightening bit of media ever created, but people LOVED it.

This is something that actually does worry me about VR. Are we setting the stage for people to be hit with PTSD and whatnot from an environment that's designed for entertainment purposes. This is why I'm personally more interested in what VR can do for a viewing experience (i.e. watching movies and live sports) vs. what it can do for gaming.

I'd like to read more into what it does to help with PTSD. Apparently it does, but I don't know enough about it to understand how.

You're right though, there's going to be triggers for days as this grows.

Trying this out I kept taking my hand off my wheel to try to block the sun in my eyes. The feeling is awesome.

fml I need that in my life.

At least for that first day where I'll go nuts and play it non-stop.

To be fair, the Oculus Rift looks even better than the Vive for Project Cars. The resolution is substantially better but I haven't had time to mess around with the Vive on it too much.

Regardless, it is something that one has to try in person!

It's reactions like that that get me incredibly excited for the next 5 years. Waggle controls were great on the Wii, and functionally the Playstation Move worked fine, but nobody reacted like that. A lot of these VR youtube videos make me feel like I'm watching a child try gaming for the first time.

Virtual IKEA. NSFW Language

I'm leaning towards getting a Vive. The controllers seem to add a lot of immersion to the experience. I definitely need to try one out first.

Got my Samsung VR last night and it is so much fun. There are quite a few neat things from the movie theatre to small apps like Jurrasic Park to the Cirque things. I have not played a ton yet but for the small price it is worth it (if I would have paid for it)

You'd be surprised. I've setup 3 phones of friends and family to get them going on VR porn, there is nothing that compares to VR porn to show people what this technology is capable of.

I never forget my brothers place we had a dinner party with just siblings and their significant others, they were all blown away by it, especially my brother in law who is about the furthest from tech savy guy in the world, he was in shock that this was even possible.

I don't like the porn. They all seem to have you end up staring at some dudes junk the entire time. Maybe once they start making other points of view it will be cool.

Umm, I've never tried the VR porn thing yet so correct me if I'm wrong, but given it's Virtual Reality, would you not be able to look around at whatever you want? And if so, may it be possible that you're CHOOSING to "end up staring at some dudes junk the entire time."

Just sayin'
