I had no idea that was Cate Blanchette until I read about it online. And I watched that trailer multiple times today.

You guys should join me in my New Years resolution of not watching movie trailers. It's great not having Spider-Man or Justice League or Thor spoiled.

It will get harder when Last Jedi teasers start.

Well prepare for a tough Friday, because that's when the Last Jedi teaser is expected to drop.

I'm going to guess these characters will blend for the sake of the MCU.

You're right about Thor's reaction but it's been known that Hulk was going to be in this movie for well over a year. With most people knowing he was going to be in the movie, I'm fine with how they showed it in the trailer. They have to show something in these things and I think this is one of the better ones for giving fans a taste of the plot and a great moment to enjoy until the movie comes out in the fall.

There was an interview not that long ago that was up with Ruffalo and Hemsworth talking about and promoting Thor, this was advertisement level knowledge. This wasn't a Doomsday esque reveal. They did a great job with that trailer there is so much we don't know but I've seen enough to get me to the theater. Now don't pull a DC and just reveal more than you should and make me not want to see it (Wonder Woman).

I did this a couple years back, and I hope you get more out of it than I did. I was firmly in the camp that trailer reveals were ruining movies – and while I still believe they do to some extent – I was surprised at how my enjoyment of movies remained relatively stable. There were some really cool surprises, but admittedly they didn't impact me like I thought they would.

What did change however is how much of a pain in the a** it is to actively avoid big trailers. I'm a cord cutter and I only see a handful of movies every year, yet I was blown away by how many times I had to awkwardly excuse myself from a situation to avoid them. In the end I found it wasn't worth the effort.

They're comic book movies....

There's a bad guy. He does some stuff. Superhero, after facing adversity, defeats him. The ending might lead into another bad guy.

I actually think a good trailer gets me more excited for a movie and increases the enjoyment I get from it due to the increased anticipation it causes.

I'm glad that they're bringing in other characters now for the solo Marvel movies. It always seemed weird to me when, for example, in Thor 2 they're dealing with an end of the universe scenario and none of the other Avengers pop by to lend a hand

Yes the Kate Blanchette casting is a signal that they have bigger plans for this character.

That would be alright. It seems like they are chopping up plot point from the "Planet Hulk" storyline into bits in other movies. They could segway into a World War Hulk movie afterwards.

Anyone else excited to see Charlize Theron kick some ass? I've heard good things from some early previews.
