Flames Fireside Chat Season 3

We're back for the third season of the Fireside Chat podcast. It looks like it'll be a very interesting season this year and we're excited to cover the season again this year.

We're hoping to continue our Old Flames interview series with more Flames alumni this season, and to get more exclusive interviews with current and future Flames.

We'll post new episodes for this season in this thread - as well as our Flames articles and other content, but the easiest way to make sure you get the latest shows right away is to subscribe via your favourite podcast reader, or get the newest shows in your inbox from the form on our website.

Episode 53: The Third Wheel
Training camp is now well under way and this week we recap training camp to date, and chat about who’s looking good so far and who’s not impressing us. We look at where some of the older prospects fit into the depth chart, the possibility of the Flames bringing a player in on waivers – and who is available. We cap off the show with our predictions for the Flames opening day roster.

Episode 54: Johnny Hockey Made The Team!
As we look ahead to the opening of the regular season, we talk about the players who will be on the Opening Day roster – including Johnny Gaudreau. Which of the veteran players are going to impress us this year, and which veterans do we think will disappoint? Will Glencross and Bollig be players that will have a good or a bad season? Plus – we look at how well some of the Flames young prospects are doing in the Canadian Hockey League so far.

Episode 58: The Sick Bay is Full
Another great week for the Flames means we’ve got a lot to talk about. The Flames have four top forwards on the injury reserve, and four prospects have been called up from Adirondack to fill their spots – and are doing surprisingly well. We’ll look at Josh Jooris and Markus Granlund and how well they’re doing, and what Sven Baertschi needs to improve to stay in the NHL. Does Johnny Gaudreau have a shot at the Calder Cup this season? Have the Flames finally found their starting goalie in Jonas Hiller? Plus we’ll look back at the last week of games, and the games coming up this week.

I finished a new article and it's been just posted.

I Thought There Was Supposed To Be Growing Pains?

Here's a preview

Quote:
It has been a fun two months for Flames fans everywhere to start this season. The results have been an unexpected pleasant surprise, especially considering most people, myself included, pegged the Flames to be in the Connor McDavid sweepstakes this year. The Flames find themselves only two points out of first overall in the NHL at the end of November and continued to roll into December collecting a win in their first game of the month. A rebuilding team’s development is never linear though and unexpected surprises are actually the norm. Usually though, everything does not break in a strictly positive manner like it has in Calgary. It is not just the NHL team that has been off to a good start. Almost the entire group of prospects, both at the AHL level and the major junior level, have been among the leaders with their teams this season with only a few minor exceptions. Because of this leap forward from almost the entire organization, it is extremely hard to define what exactly the Calgary Flames are. This ambiguity should be a point of caution, in addition to being an awesome experience to watch it all unfold.
