Still with NHL team (4):
#1 Ekblad
#3 Draisaitl
#4 Bennett (injured)
#12 Perlini (injured)
Sent to AHL (2):
#14 Honka
#25 Pastrnak
Sent back to juniors (15):
#2 Reinhart
#5 Dal Colle
#6 Virtanen
#7 Fleury
#9 Ehlers
#10 Ritchie
#16 Milano
#17 Sanheim
#19 DeAngelo
#21 Fabbri
#23 Bleackley
#24 McCann
#26 Scherbak
#28 Ho-Sang
#30 Quenneville
Sent to Europe (6):
#8 Nylander
#11 Fiala
#13 Vrana
#22 Kapanen
#27 Goldobin
#29 Kempe
Playing in NCAA (3):
#15 Larkin
#18 Tuch
#20 Schmaltz
Updated Devo22s list. Perlini is soon to be returning to the ice and he will undoubtedly go back to the Ice Dogs. I think we all thought Bennett would return to Kingston had he not required shoulder surgery. Draisaitl, whether he is ready or not, is probably being kept up because the Oilers C depth is non-existent. Had we drafted him instead of Bennett, would we have sent him down? I reckon so.
2014 truly was a very weak draft. I doubt this is repeated next year.

3 points in 10 games and a - 5. There's only one reason Draisaitl is still in the NHL: He's marginally better than Arcobello and lander. And even that is debatable. Kind of a second reason is MacT doesn't want to look stupid for his all but guarantee that Draisaitl makes the Oilers better

I still think that we got the best player in this draft. Since he was injured most of last year, I think that we didn't see his best. Once he is healthy and can build some muscle, we will see a different player who I think will take a big step.
I also think Ehlers will be a great player, he is so dangerous when he is on the ice. Great pick by the Jets.

I can't help but feel Draisaitl would've been the player he's projected to be everywhere but Edmonton. In Edmonton he'll reach his potential, but only out of spite. And if he manages to do that, I will argue to the bitter end that anywhere else but Edmonton he becomes the best player this league has ever seen.
I truly feel horrible for the kid. He doesn't want this.

Those are some strong words!!
I think that there could be worse places to play, like Florida or Buffalo. If I was a young player coming into the league I would rather play for a team like Edmonton (ie Canadian) then a team nobody really cares about. Even if most of the attention is negative at this point.
We will see how he pans out.

Has anyone seen Pastrnak play this year? He has quietly put up solid numbers as an 18 year old in the AHL. 9 points in 7 games. I remember watching some highlights and thinking he could be the steal of the draft. He's looking like a good pick-up for Boston.

Aaron Ekblad scored his first NHL goal tonight in his 9th NHL game. Friedman reporting that Ekblad is officially staying with the Panthers.

Barkov has just 1 point in 9 games so far this season. Is he playing badly, or is it bad luck/circumstances?

I cant speak on his play specifically, as I haven't watched Florida much, but I know they don't score many goals.
Boyes and Jokinen lead the team with 5 points in 9 games, then theres a bunch of players with 2 and 3 points.
Bjugstad led the Panthers in points last year, but he only has 1 assist in 9 games so far.
The points will likely start to come for Barkov/Bjugstad soon.

I wouldn't call the best team 5v5 in goals allowed a mess... The young guys just can't score right now. And the veterans on the team just aren't very good.

Watched parts of 2 games and didn't noticed him at all, actually had to look up his jersey # to see if he was playing. not shocked really though as I always said he plays way to passive for my liking.
I think he was a healthy scratch tonight in favor of 5'6 Grimaldi who made his NHL debut.

Barkov has been banged up but is playing through it. Guy can't seem to stay healthy.

I still wonder if Calgary didn't get one of the better guys in that draft after McKinnon and Jonsey. Its probably just by dumb luck too, I was real worried about getting Lindholm for a while.
Its way too early to tell but my gut says Ekblad/Bennet were/will be the best two from this years draft.

We were definitely really fortunate to have Monahan and Bennett fall into our laps. Lindholm and Draisaitl just seems like a far inferior duo. So thankful we got the two Canadian kids.

Agreed. I think it'll probably end up being Bennett/Eckblad as the two best and then probably someone like nylander/ritchie

I think Ehlers could challenge for 3rd too. He looked pretty good.
