Lol. I didn't going for the puck meant giving the person in a front of you a forearm shiver to the back of the head.

I'll handicap how this will go: Canucks fans will make excuses for Hansen, then cry about it for a year once some Blackhawk goes after him in retaliation.

Diving penalty for Kesler.

They should be calling that penalty way, way more around the league.

What did the Canuck feed say about that awful Kesler dive? Just curious.

To be fair, Toews should have gotten called earlier for interference. They've called chincier stuff all year. Still no excuse for the dive though.

Nothing. Pretty much agreed with the call.

Been told to expect that Jannik Hansen will have a hearing at some point for his head shot to Hossa! NHL looking at it now.

Hahaha, Flames fans... that's not a suspension. It wasn't that bad. Both going for the puck and didn't even look to get him that hard. Honestly I'm surprised the guy isn't back yet.

Diving was the right call on Kesler.

Chicago is ridiculous.

From Pierre Lebrun

My take: it's a head shot whether there was intent or not on the play.... We'll see how the league views it though ...

It's an elbow to the back of the head of a star player with a well-publicized history of concussions. You can bet the house on Hansen getting suspended, and rightly so.

Well, it is still the wheel of justice and Hossa is a star player and he did go down on the play, so you never know... but that's just ridiculous. He barely touched him and it was incidental as part of a play where both players were going for the puck.

As far as the Canucks go the way this stretch of games against good teams is going - about to be 0-2-1 and a few more tough games to go - that 6 game win streak looks pretty damned illusory. They don't look top tier. Which tells you how bad the NW is, I guess.

I just caught it half way through the segment but the last 2 guys to talk about it on the TSN panel figured there would be a suspension coming down to Hansen. I have to see it more than the 1 time to form my opinion.

It was a reckless play and as Johnson said probably deserved a one game suspension intent or not and 5 game if he intended it.

No reason for elbow to be up there and no just a hockey play excuse either. Dumb play by Hansen that is easily avoided by not having your elbow/forearm at the other guys head level.

They should throw the book at him.

Hansen is a POS player with a history of dirt.

He'll never take his lumps, they should absolutely make an example of him that contact to the head is no longer acceptable.

People honestly believe that head shot wasn't intentional? What, exactly, was he doing, then? Who grabs at a puck with their elbow leading?

I don't think there is intent as they are both going for the puck with their hands and Hossa skates back in to him, he was clearly going for the puck

But with the NHL cracking down on any head injuries I would guess he gets 1 game
