5 Things - Flames @ Canucks

3. Fast Facts

Kylington 200

Oliver Kylington is slated to skate in his 200th NHL game tonight in Vancouver. The Stockholm, Sweden product made his NHL debut on April 9, 2016 in Minnesota where he logged 17:22 of ice time and had one shot. Kylington will become the 18th-active Swedish defenceman to reach the milestone and joins Rasmus Andersson as two of 21 defencemen from the 2015 draft class to hit the mark.

Razzle Dazzle

Andersson is just one point shy of becoming the 11th active Swedish-born defenceman to reach the 200-point plateau, and sixth rearguard from the 2015 draft class to achieve the feat.

FlamesNation Mailbag: Diving into the season’s final week

Friends, the Calgary Flames have played 80 games of their 2023-24 regular season. They have games on Tuesday and Thursday, and then their season will be complete.
As we await the final games of the campaign, let’s delve into the mailbag!

Don’t tell me the odds: The Flames’ draft lottery positioning is still up in the air

We’re into the short strokes of the 2023-24 season, friends, and the Calgary Flames are playing for pride, for jobs, and to potentially alter their draft lottery positioning. Since the last time we provided an update on the lottery math, things have become a littler clearer, but there’s still a lot up in the air as the Flames head into the final two games.

Canucks Gameday Preview #81: Thatcher Demko Returns As Vancouver Wraps Up Their 2023-24 Regular Season Home Schedule

The Vancouver Canucks (49-22-9) will look to celebrate Fan Appreciation Night in style as they take on the Calgary Flames (37-38-5) on Tuesday. With one point, the Canucks would capture their first-ever Pacific Division crown, while a victory would help Vancouver hit the 50-win mark for the third time in franchise history. This game will also be significant as Thatcher Demko will return to the lineup for the first time in a month as he looks to get back into game shape ahead of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

It could be Markstrom's last game in a Flaming C.

It should be a fun game, hopefully Kuzy gets a couple more goals against his old team.

I guess at this point winning or losing doesn’t make much difference in the standings. So you might as well win.

Hopefully klapka draws in . Granted that’s not a guarantee considering how much vets have been playing with nothing on the line.

And yes I think this is markstroms last game as a flame.

Isn't Vancouver playing the preds as it currently stands?

I think Oilers and Vegas are going to play, Preds canucks, and Kings Stars, should be a good first round

Big Kings loss last night.

We need Vegas against Edmonton to avoid a Dallas/Vegas first round matchup and a trade condition conflict.

Yes. Nashville is locked in to the first wildcard and a point tonight will clinch the Pacific for Vancouver.

Vancouver still has an outside chance of getting first in the West if they win their final 2 and Dallas loses their last game in regulation.

Also, I think Vegas with Stone back has a better chance of taking out the Oilers than the Kings do.

Hope to see a good effort. I expect Vancouver to play reasonably hard here to try and lock up the Division. So if it's a 4-2 loss with a ENG, I can live with that. Hopefully it's not a 7-1 no show loss.

I'm not on team tank at all but I'd prefer a loss tonight to prevent the frauds any chance of winning the division.

Good reason to cheer for a Flames win.

Question - if Van went 0-2 and the grease ended up as division leaders and say Van ended up 7th or 8th overall and Van gets eliminated in Round 1 how does our 1st round pick look versus them winding up as division winners, 5th or 6th overall and exiting in the 2nd or 3rd round??

A lot in there I realize lol

If they are out in round one it would be better if they were not the division winner.
Probably ends up 22-23 if they finish second in division and 25-28 if they win division

The management, coaches and players should understand that a win is not good. It’s really in Huska’s hands. Ice time for the kids and deploy the offense first approach!!
