Kerr just stated that details are still "very sketchy", and this may in fact be a three way deal.

The return as it stands makes me absolutely ill.

How does Toronto end up with an extra first rounder from the Giguere deal and we don't get it? Seriously - how does that happen?

I would post a facepalm pic, but CP would just crash even more with pictures.

Doug Risebrough may now be off the hook for worst trade in Flames history. A franchise player for scrubs. Burke has fleeced Sutter. Howard Burger sounds like a kid in a candy store calling it the reincarnation of the Fletcher/Risebrough deal.

Definitely the darkest day in the Flames franchise since the early 90's.

We're getting some good players back, but getting three good players for one great player is never a good move from an organizational standpoint.

Hagman's a 30-goal scorer and Stajan is a good 2nd line center. This trade isn't a bust as many people on CP would like to believe.

The funniest thing is that now that Dion's heading out of town, people here are way overvaluing him whereas just a few days ago he was being called overpaid and useless.

Boy, this just doesn't seem right. Even if Phaneuf was demanding a trade, there has to be something better out there than this. Quantity does not equal Quality. I would almost rather just get a Top 10 first rounder.

As angry as Flames fans might be, this makes you a better team short term.

Sutter is an idiot. Traded a core player for 4 2nd liners, 3rd liners, 4th liners. Just a very dumb move, no 1st, no young core player, NOTHING. Sutter better work his magic with sarich or someone else to somehow bring in another 24 yr old core player.

Judging by Burke's tone, Calgary isn't getting anything else.

White is solid you guys will like him and he is young too. The rest is iffy though but remember this may be addition by subtraction.

I guess I am in the minority as far as seeing this as not that bad of a return. Ian White is a fairly good offensive d man (has more points than Dion this year and is only a year older and played some forward last year before winning his job back and then leading the leafs in icetime by the end of the year), and I know it's not saying a lot, but Stajan is now #2 on our team in points and Hagman is #4. I think we have to be honest with ourselves and realize Phaneuf at his pricetag was not living up to it. Obviously he could still develop into one of the leagues best. I have no idea why we wanted Jamal Mayers. 3 Solid players is not that bad of a deal especially if Dion wanted out. Stajan is a 60 pt. player as he has improved every year. Hagman is 40-50 pt player and White is a 30-40 pt defender.

The Leafs even get Aulie. WTF? Is Sutter mad? This season has become a nightmare of epic proportions.

I'll take it. I think this just verifies the rumours we've been hearing about Dion and the rest of the team.

Stajan and White will both be free agents... so this will open up cap space for the summer.
