So what, Cars 3 is going to be Cars 1 with a few new characters? That looks like the worst Pixar movie ever, including Cars 2.

Pixar seems to be leaning more towards emotional than clever or funny. I want to go to a Pixar movie to laugh, not feel utterly depressed - I am looking at you, Toy Story 3, Inside Out, and Finding Dory.

I'm fine with emotional, as long as it isn't the EXACT SAME STORY again. Car tries to win but fails. Car finds inner car from unusual source, becomes Super Saiyan car. Car tries again and wins.

Unless the trailer is completely misleading about the story.

Cars 2 was a cash grab that is pretty universally panned. But they make soooooo much money on the merchandising for that series it's still worth it.

I loved Inside Out too. I'm a softy though, and I teared up at one part.

For the record, Cars 3 is just going to be a less funny version of Talladega Nights.

The issue with Cars is that it is the type of movie that didn't need a sequel - but it is such a merchandise powerhouse that there is no way Disney will leave that money on the table.

This feels more like an imitation of Rocky 3 than Talladega Nights to me.

Netflix is great for movies like this. They didn't produce this movie, they didn't create this movie but instead of meandering through theaters slowly finding an audiance over time it's instantly available to stream to everyone when they make it available.

It's a great distribution solution for smaller independent movies.
