Man the attendance looks brutal in that game...hoping this is just a case of Wednesday night, but the Hitmen game yesterday had substantially more people.

Does anyone know the playoff cut-off? Is it by division? conference? top points? top point%?

The top 4 teams by point % in each division get into the playoffs. Heat are currently 6th with a point % of .500. The last playoff spot is currently Bakersfield who has a point % of .549.

AHL does a good job with their playoff primer:

I've noticed Poirier has not dresses the last few games. Nursing an injury? Same with Kilmchuk--saw he was not dressed last night. Hopefully it's nothing concerning in both cases.

Funny thing with Poirier. I thought he had a good first camp when he came up with Monahan and showed some good scoring ability only to be sent back to junior because he didn't put in the work that Monahan did to play at 18... Trade to Montreal coming down the road

Two very nice goals from Jankowski, great to see that he's been the most consistent and best forward in his first season.

The Heat are definitely still in the playoff picture but that 11 game losing streak was an absolute killer. Even if the win 3 or 4 of those they're sitting pretty.

Anyone else think Jankowski will be playing his very last AHL game pretty soon? I just don't see him back in the A next year. He's been too consistent for too long down there.

If there was room, he'd be up already IMO.

Btw Sureloss' post #1102 didn't include last nights win and loss by Bakersfield.

After last night:
4. Bakersfield, 52GP, 0.538% (56 points)
5. Tucson, 51GP, 0.510% (52 points)
6. Stockton, 52GP, 0.510% (53 points)

3 point difference with 16 games to go. They're 5-5 in their last 10, just need to get rolling.

Also imo it depends on how Janko does next training camp at the 3rd line C hole, if he perform then you can move Bennett to wing, no brainer. Bennett faceoffs have improved, he can take the FO's like Iggy used to.

Easy call to go almost 100% with Riddich down the stretch and they can close that gap. Gillies needs another year in AHL at least anyways. Gillies very mediocre at 34th in league.

Riddich is number 3 again amongst AHL goalies. The 0.930 save percentage and 5 shutouts in just 21 games is quite impressive.

We really need to see what we have in Riddich anyways? RFA next season. Entering mid 20s age wise.

Getting Riddich has helped me forget about not choosing Demko (26th in AHL) over McDonald (39th in ECHL).

Moving a center with as much two-way accumen as Bennett to wing is far from a no-brainer, and I love Jankowski as a prospect. I would argue that since the Tampa game, Bennett has been looking better in his zone than both Stajan and Monahan... essentially dominant until his wingers cough up the puck.
