Nope, there is an aircraft based wifi system that you can access from your tablet/smartphone to use their entertainment system.

It looks so much smaller because of the arm rest, looks like a real tight squeeze to get INTO the seats... Though they do look nice and wide.

Still no flying rouge.

Regardless of how bad National Post butchered that, an A330 losing both engines and descending 13,000 ft before getting them back is a relatively big deal.

Losing all your engines is a big deal, unless the flight crew are Canadians or Brits.

Considering it's Singapore... they might actually be British.

Quite possibly the most British quote ever:

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem. All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them going again. I trust you are not in too much distress."

The landing on that Speedbird 9 flight sounded terribly precarious.

The slightest bit of visibility through the windshield on landing, as well as only lateral direction on the ILS had Moody describing the process as: "a bit like negotiating one's way up a badger's arse."

Sitting in Halifax Airport watching the inaugural Glasgow flight celebration.

Big fan fare. Will upload pictures when I get home. Tartan tail will be here in a few hours. I'll snap some pics of that as well.

What's interesting about the new Glasgow flight is that it seems really far because it's across the Atlantic, but WestJet already flies further with the 737.

Vancouver - Cancun -- 2,417 miles
Victoria - Cancun -- 2,408 miles
Vancouver - Kona/Lihue -- 2,367 miles
Calgary - St. John's -- 2,342 miles
Halifax - Glasgow -- 2,286 miles

From WS:

...and they're up, up and away. A little 737 in a sea of heavy jets making the nightly crossing.

Always neat to see a "little" narrowbody making the crossing, even smaller though would be British Airways and their A318 flight from JFK to London City Centre. I think that one is BA2 (which used to be Concorde's flight).

Sun is rising over YQY

Rouge Leg Room or lack there of. I paid for a preferred seat, I checked in and had the emergency exit row 19F. Rouge changed the version of the plane where 19F was the row behind the exit row.

I'm getting a refund but it took a day to walk off the cramps in my legs.

All female crew on a 787 in Africa. A 4.5 hour documentary chronicles 3 full flights with them, available for purchase here.

Question that some of you may know the answer to.

I'm going to bring my brother's bike with me to Calgary. However, he's likely working Wednesday morning. Is it possible to leave it at the airport and pick it up later in the day?

Will Air Canada do this, or are there services that would allow for it at the airport?

You have two choices:

(1) you can just leave it at the oversized luggage where it will be delivered, and Air Canada will keep it in the lost/delayed luggage office.

Pro: free
Con: someone could steal the bike; your brother isn't you and won't have the claim tag or ID to match yours.

(2) there is a baggage storage (at cost) at the information booth right across from the AC baggage carousels. You'll have to let them know your brother will pick up the bike.

Pro: secured, though you'd have to probably get the claim tag to your brother in some way
Con: costs

I can go with him to pick up the bike. The issue is, his truck will be downtown when I arrive.

Ideally I'd love to walk off the plane and just leave the airport (fly carry-on) but that's not possible with the bike.

What is your transportation plan upon arriving? I wonder if you might be able to request a minivan taxi and shove it in there. I don't know whether the airport bus has a bike rack or allows bikes on board, but I'm guessing no and no.

To add to what billybox123 has said, it looks like it would cost $15 to store at the airport for up to 24 hours: http://www.yyc.com/en-us/travellerin...gestorage.aspx

Seems like a reasonable cost vs. hassle trade off if that's the option you are favouring.
