But seriously it's ridiculous how powerful those things are. What will it do that your bullet won't? This is like asking what it'll do that your handheld eggbeater won't... by way of example, there's a setting on there for "soup", which actually blends things at such a high velocity that it heats up. I.e., stick some carrots in there with whatever seasonings (there are recipes on the website), blend it, and it will pour out as steaming hot carrot soup.

That gives you an idea of the grade of machine we're talking about here. I don't own one but I've been considering it lately.

The issue for me is, if you're going for smoothies, the bullet blenders are more convenient from a cleaning perspective because they're single servings. Stick stuff in cup, blend, drink, stick cup in dishwasher. But that is literally all I use a bullet for.

I believe it starts around $400 and goes up another few hundred depending on model and accessories.

Maybe it's being a parent of young children, but when I see that door, I see pinched fingers.

Vessyl, the cup that can sense anything you are drinking and keep track of your calories, sugars, carbs, caffine, protein and hydration level. links to iOS and android to track info. induction charge base.

Just bought one yesterday, pre-orders end soon (tomorrow I think), shipping early 2015.

No directed at you, because I know you're just buying one and didn't invent it, but that whole thing comes across as some pretty pretentious hipster bull####. Why wouldn't someone just input the calories of what they drink into their phone, since it appears they have to do it manually sometimes anyway, instead of also carrying around that mug?

Yeah I was thinking liquid calories is probably the easiest thing to track manually.

can be but always entering stuff in your phone is a pain. Not really thinking of being the hipster guy to carry this around, but have one at home and one at the office where 90% of my liquid calories are consumed.

mostly I think its really cool tech.

edit: more really cool tech. https://www.thalmic.com/en/myo/

didnt buy one of these as I would probably only use it to turn the volume up and down from 2 feet away from my computer, but pretty amazing.
