This is about as "Must Win" a game can possibly be with 20 games to go.

The Flames can only lose a maximum of 13 more points, with the most difficult portion of the season coming up later.

3 - 1 Blue Jackets.

The Flames are embers of their former selves.

No faith in the boys tonight...we're gonna get boat raced by a team whose top scorers are Prospal, Letestu and Brassard

Shortly after we'll trade our 2013 1st rounder for two of the above

So the Flames have lost 8 straight on the road but have won 7 straight at home?

If there was a post I wish management would read this might be it.

Cammy was basically mocking the semantics of "must win". He said it's not a "must win" if it's not mathematically a "must win". He then went on to say there is of course urgency, desperation, etc.

Sounds like Mikael Backlund will miss tonight's game in Columbus with Roman Cervenka coming back in. #Flames
Hopefully it's just a maintenance thing after taking that shot off his foot. Wasn't Backs best game this season, but certainly not benching worthy.

Flames on their heels, going into a game they should lose, and the fanbase seems to officially be in a lose for a lottery pick mentality...sounds like the perfect scenario for a Flames W.

4-2 Flames. They like to keep us confused

I'm going to predict a loss by 3 goals. I've never seen Kipper look that frustrated, or Iggy to look that demoralized.

I think the pressure of the trade deadline is grinding this team down, and their inability to get defensive zone coverage is killing this team.

If you're looking at a pressure scenario, if the flames lose this game, there's a week left to the trade line and the Flames will have an incredibly steep hole to dig out of. I have a feeling that everyone in that dressing room is going to be thinking, if we lose this all hell is going to break loose.

That's a lot of pressure on a team that isn't good with pressure.

Plus Columbus has built a pretty big nasty team that checks well.

All ingredients for a butt pounding not seen since Tom Cruise met Scientology

He's probably too injured to play effectively right now. On the radio yesterday they were talking about how Hartley was almost challenging backlund to try to play through the injury. Backlund proved to him that he would play through that pain. Now that he's shown his mental resolve, I think Hartley is giving the guy a rest and not making him torture himself on the ice.

Don't know where else to post.

Interesting stat - When the Flames have held the opponent to less than 3 goals this season, they are unbeaten in Regulation

5-0-4

Also, the Flames have scored 4 or more goals 12 times in 28 games. The Flames have scored 3 or more goals 16 times. The Flames have only 11 wins.

When the Flames have scored less than 3 goals in a game, they are 0-8-4.

(I have disregarded all shootout winning goals in these calculations. A 3-2 shootout loss counts as holding the opposition to 2 goals)

considering that only 2 western conference teams (chi/ana) avg more than 3 goals a game, it is another exclamation point on just how bad the defensive play and goaltending have been for the flames this year...

With everyone predicting a loss, Columbus playing really well lately, second game of a back-to-back which is already guaranteed loss, the Flames playing like crap, the Flames will win this one easily.

Have none of you learned nothing? Tonight we win 4-2 or something, with everything against us there is no way we lose, it never happens like that.
