Iginla would be a reach for 5th overall. Or 1st.

The Oilers are your team, how do you not know their draft pick situation? FYI, you and the Canucks don't have a first round pick.

I’m confused what position Tij plays? There are pages and pages of debate that some posters would prefer a Centre, but Tij is listed as a Centre https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/...php?pid=251359

Left shot left wing; think the confusion comes from the fact he's officially listed as a center still in the Kelowna Rockets official game sheets. 5on5 he plays with C Michael Cicek and RW Hiroki Gojsic.

It's going to be interesting if you can go from junior to ncaa... Guys like this will probably play in the CHL while they wait for ncaa spot and also players who feel like they aren't getting a fair opportunity in the CHL will threaten to go to ncaa.

I do know. I mentioned a few teams, plus there is a thing called trades.

You mentioned three teams, two of which haven't got a first-round pick, and aren't in a position to be trading away premium assets to acquire one.

Weak.

He's 15 and has lots of growing to do but he is quite small. Probably felt going to Michigan is better for his development.

I know those teams are unlikely but mentioned another possibility. Tell me what I mentioned is impossible.

While not technically impossible, what you mentioned is as possible as me playing for one of those teams next year.

More likely the Oilers don’t have re-sign McDavid or Draisaitl than Iginla ending up on any of the teams you mentioned

We should start a new thread. He doesn’t even play for Seattle anymore.

We can start a new one on June 28. I already have the topic headline ready:

With the 10th selection, the Flames select LW Tij Iginla

The only forwards that the Flames would possibly take ahead of Tij are Celebrini, Demidov, Lindstrom, and Catton. I don’t see the Flames taking Helenius or Eiserman ahead of him. There’s not enough of a skill gap and Eiserman is too much like Coronato.

Unless we win the lottery, it’s certain that Celebrini and Demidov are gone. I can’t see Catton getting past the top 8. He’s too good. Lindstrom probably won’t either as he’s 6’4 and a C. So the Flames most likely have the choice among Tij, Helenius, Eiserman, or one of the D. I hope they don’t choose one of the D unless it’s Parekh who falls. I’d rather have Tij over Buium.

I have a feeling that he will have to overcome his name on our list. Saying that if he is tied on our list with a center or defenseman then his name will not elevate him and he won't be picked. I'm fairly sure the same would be true if tied with a winger. I feel like Iggy Sr and Craig will ensure that if he is picked it was a clear BPA in their mind to avoid any inclination that they were swayed by his name.

Being negatively swayed by his name is also a risk. Craig said as much in reference to Lowry. He said not picking him because of who his dad was was a big mistake...
