I don't think Jimmy will have anything to do with Rebecca leaving. That partnership doesn't seem that strong as it is. It could end on it's own, or Frank's 'illness' could have something to do with it. A lot of people have problems sticking around when someone gets that sick, doubly so if it's a mental thing.

I don't know how I' feel about all these Breaking Bad inclusions. Seems like too much, too quickly.

Two other nods, I'm not sure anyone else brought up. Jimmy and Kim were watching Icestation Zebra (one of her favorite movies apparently), and Icestation Zebra was the name of his 'loan out' to move around, hide his money. 'Make the cheques payable to Icestation Zebra Associates.' a few episodes ago. Also, Mike was in the diner with the same waitress this episode when he met Tio/Hector where he met Lidia for the first time in Breaking Bad.

If you think about it though Tio Salamanca almost has to be the contact for Mike.

One of the problems you see during a breaking bad re-watch is the writing around Gus.

If Tuco is a local player with cartel connections how is he operating within Fring's territory? It makes sense that Tuco could have been part of Fring's organization as muscle, but we know that front and Mike like to keep things professional (with the exception of those kid murdering thugs that inexplicably have access to the top guy as Street level hoods).

I am really interested to see how they rectify all this, maybe we will finally figure out who Gus Fring is.

McKean sheds some light on this in an interview:

http://www.amc.com/shows/better-call...m_campaign=BCS

Brothers are brothers. Whatever their individual characteristics are, they’re always in competition with each other in some way. Jimmy found making people laugh to be very easy. I think that was foreign to Chuck. He didn’t understand those rhythms. He was great at taking people apart in court or sitting at a business meeting and pointing out a clause that devastates an opponent. That’s his talent and he’s brilliant at it, but when it comes to being likable, it’s like a foreign language to him. We see that during anecdotal and flashback moments. It’s all pretty interesting. I know people who have every intention of being amusing and they’re not. We’ve all encountered them. [Laughs] Chuck thinks making people laugh is just part of the con.

I am still wondering what the light switch in Jimmy's office did, or is it to just show how compulsive he is?

It was a test directed at the audience.

I'd say it's allegorical. 1. It symbolizes that this opportunity is his one best shot at legitimacy (leave the switch on and change your life for the better) and the road we know he ends up on (switch off). 2. It's also meant to show Jimmy's ambivalence about his arrival at HHM and the high road in general - easy come, easy go. He's a hustler and low life in final analysis, albeit a likable one. 3. Lastly, the switch was supposed to stay on. Jimmy ignored that and cycled it anyway, presumably causing an action that hasn't yet been identified either by Jimmy or the audience. Typical device used in BB. It will gain meaning in future episodes. I watch BB and BCS and think that Kubrick would have been great with cable TV.

The plot thickens!

This episode had me wondering, is Mike the one who puts Hector in the chair?

They need to merge Jimmy's and Mike's storylines soon. As good as Kim's and Jimmy's scenes are, they lack the urgency and electricity of Mike's crisis.

Chilling seeing The Cousins in the distance watching Mike.

Why would Tio let Mike bring his gun to the meeting? That was the only leverage he had. The scene where Mike comes home to confront his intruders was riveting.

I have a bad feeling about Kim. There was a high body count on Breaking Bad.

At the end of the day they needed him to take the rap. They couldn't really kill him as the cop would still be a witness to the whole thing.

It was meant to show respect and trust.

I think it's obvious that her fate is going to be bad. I'm guessing that will be the catalyst for Jimmy to go full Saul

I'm enjoying Mike's storyline much more than Jimmy's which has kind of been stuck in neutral this season. I hope they move from the firm storyline sooner than later although I really like the actor that plays Howard at the firm as he nails that character.

I think Jimmy's arc will be the one with the big payoff. It's a bit of a slow burn though. Mike's story lines are keeping people entertained episode to episode. Jimmy can't just keep hopping around from place to place aimlessly, there needs to be some build up before his fall / ultimate transition from semi-legitimate lawyer to scoundrel.

Yep, tonight's episode is moving him rapidly to Saul. Just the name change now. 'Dude, I'm from Detroit' - rofl.

"Dude, I'm from Michigan."

"So you haven't understood a word I said?"

There was so much Bob Odenkirk in that episode that it was tough to draw the line between character and actor. Brilliant on a whole different level from the rest of the series.

Still not sure of the angle between Mike and his daughter in law. Is she paranoid and delusional? Is she playing him? Seems inconsequential right now, but they keep revisiting it.

I'm guessing that Mike is now going to ask Hector for a job. If that's true we might eventually get to see Gus' takeover and Mike's transitioning to his outfit.

I wonder how the Wexler and McGill co-law firms is going to go. I also keep wondering at every turn if this is the catalyst to Saul. He's already accepted that he has to be 'colourful', so this has to be the jumping off point, right?
