Very good chance that if he shot her 20 times he had to completely reload and empty his gun twice.
He's toast.

I doubt that the video game had much to do with this, he had this rage or impulse inside of him all the time, the COD was just an excuse to live out a sick fantasy.

Why is it unreasonable to buy an 11 year old a gun. In Canada you can legally hunt at 12. So it isnt like 11 is unreasonable. 12 year olds with guns (bigger than ,22s) is common amoung families who hunt

He didn't get that from CoD. He got that from having a wire loose in his brain somewhere.

Must be from all the teabagging. Video games are 100% to blame for this. And rap music and rock and roll.

I think it's much more reasonable for the parents to have the guns, and the kids to borrow them. An 11 year old might be qualified to fire a gun (under limited circumstances), but not to "own" one.

Whats the difference, your parents by you a gun and lock it in the gun safe and you get to use it with supervision on trips.
or
Your parents by an extra gun that only you use and lock it in the gun safe and you get to use it with supervision on trips.
I am not seeing the difference there.

Surely as a kid, you recognized some kind of difference between things that were "Mommy's" and things that were "yours". The difference is in the degree to which the kid feels entitled to use the gun.

If only he'd played more Assassin's Creed, he'd be too tired and blind to shoot his mother

There is mounting evidence that suggests too much video games causes problems in maturing brains as the connections develop.
Other research shows video games improve other brain functions.

Jeebus. What a story. I was reading another article on this just now and he phoned his dad and told him and his dad thought he was kidding and told him to 'throw her in the grove and we'll take care of her later.' Then 20 minutes later he gets a call from a sheriff telling him he needs to get home immediately. What a pair of phone calls to receive. Whole family just destroyed in minutes.

Meanwhile, we have parents of a troubled 11 year old buying him rated M games and a gun.

Honest question, you ever listened to these kids talk to each other in game? Seriously some of the funniest stuff a single adult could ever listen to, but scary as crap for a parent to waltz in on.

It's really no different that playground slurs, the difference being parents aren't there to hear kids fighting by the bike racks.
You should have heard my mouth at 11. Kids today are no different, and really thinking otherwise kind of makes you sound like an old man.
DAMN KIDS AND THEIR DUB STEP AND THEIR HOT POCKETS.
