Really not convinced MAF is an option. My impression (and that's all it is, mind you) is that he will not waive his NMC to come to western Canada, and if he gets bought out he'll have other teams interested that would presumably be higher on his list.
Getting that sinking feeling that we're going to end up having to sit through another season of Elliott, or failing that some other team's reclamation project.

Pierre LeBrun @PierreVLeBrun
The Dallas Stars and Ben Bishop's camp haven't chatted contract yet but plan on doing so in the next few days.

Bold prediction: Murray, Kuhnhackl, and a 5th to Calgary in exchange for Kylington, Ferland, Gillies, and 16th overall

If Feaster was still around, I'd be preparing myself right about now to find out who "the best goalie outside the NHL" is.

Looking more likely like the Flames resign Elliott?

I suspect we will hear about a signing if true:
John Shannon @JSportsnet
In discussions with Kings, Bishop made it clear he preferred certain teams. Told them he wanted to be in Dallas.
John Shannon @JSportsnet
Also told, Bishop had a no trade list. Calgary was on that list. You
Calgary being on the NT list isn't really news, he was willing to waive it last summer

I read that one of the reasons for the Kings trading for him was to block the Flames from getting him.

Can't blame him either. Calgary is quickly becoming a goalie graveyard.

Meh. I think Bishop is highly overrated. Lets see how much they pay him. Would be nice to have Bishop but its not the end of the world.

My bet (and preference) is either Grubauer or Raanta.
Grubauer is 25, 0.922 in 66 career games, and coming off a $750k contract.
Raanta is 27, 0.917 in 92 career games, and coming off a $1M contract.
Scott Darling was just traded and signed to a big contract and he shares many similarities. He's 28, with 0.923 in 75 career games.
Heck, when Talbot was traded he was 27 (almost 28), with a .931 in 57 career games.

Man this even makes me more pissed if that source was right about the Flames having a deal in place for Bishop at the deadline and then missing out because Tre and Burke had to wait for "approval" from a newspaper man.
