Without sounding too weird, I'm pretty excited at the man janko looks like he's become.
He's what, 6'4 and 210? He'll have lots to learn next year in the nhl (hopefully), but he definitely won't have trouble competing physically.

Watched the first minute of the Jankowski interview and I'm instantly impressed. I hope he's on the big club next year. Sounds like an intelligent and driven kid.

Looks like a guy who in 2/3 years may have a playing weight around 225/230. Will have no problem physically. Man I hope he reaches his potential.
Gilles & Janko are great interviewees. Mangiapane not so much, but I'm happy letting his on ice performances speak for him. Janko oozes restrained manly confidence and will no doubt be a Flame next season. The future is bright for all 3 of these guys!
I think the Flames need to have a spot open for Jankowski. It should his to lose.
He leads the team in goals and points as a rookie AHLer.
He leads in playoff points.
He's 6'4", 205 lbs and was a #1 centre for the team all year.
But what impresses me the most is that he gets it.
He's getting involved in the community and going to schools to be an ambassador of the game. He's 22 years old and he got his degree and trains every year to get bigger, and on top of all that hard work, he's doing things outside of the office hours to understand the career and impress his boss.
I will be disappointed if the Flames congest the line-up this off-season and then send down Jankowski at camp because he's the "easy" contract to send down, especially if he outplays a guy like Stajan, Bouma, etc.
If Jankowski isn't going to get solid playing time in the top 6 every night I'd rather he get top line minutes and play in every situation in Stockton and show some dominance in the AHL.
I think it would be a waste to have him only play every second game getting 10 minutes or less of ice time.
Am I crazy?
(Lazar probably could have used more than just 13 games in the AHL. He only played 50 games last season,I am sure most of them on bottom lines with very little ice time.)
No one's career was ever hurt by an extra year in the minors.

Best interview was Gillies. Really impressed me with his comments. Has his head screwed on straight based on the adversity he faced the last couple of years. Janko is going to be a player, but Gillies comments make me believe he has the make up to be a great NHL goaltender.
At the time it seemed crazy for a prospect starved organization like the Flames to take a 5 year project in the first round but the timing truly was perfect. I truly believe Feaster/Weisbroad/Button thought Jankowski was worth the boom-bust risk in a draft with not a lot of high end talent but that team needed young players to step in right away.
There is a good chance management knew a rebuild was on the horizon thought. Drafting 3 times in the first round in 2013 gave the fans Monahan as the shiny new toy and Porier and Klimchuck to add to the stable. Gaudreau continued to progress and Bennett came on board. All the while Jankowski slowly improved in the NCAA. Hamilton and Tkachuk joined the organization over the past couple years while Jankowski finished college and had a great rookie season in the minors.
The Flames sit here today with a very impressive young core they got through 3 tough seasons resulting in top 10 picks, a great trade, hitting a homer in the 4th round. Having mainstays like Gio, Brodie, Backlund all improve and become core players.
All of that action let Jankowski fly under the radar and allowed not only the organization but the fans to be patient. I truly think the patience will pay off as Jankowski has become the physical specimen Weisbroad described. We watched him go from 6'2 170 to 6'4 210 in the last 5 years. I think this kid will be a top 3 centre on the team and perhaps more when he hits his prime.
The Flames have had a rookie with at least 34pts the past 4 years. With Jankowski I think we have a 5th
