I think the tough series with the Leafs will end up helping them. Going with the Caps to win.

Just like last season the winner of this series will be the cup favourite. I don't like the Caps chances against their playoff nemesis, however I picked them to win the cup so won't change that now. Washington in 7.

Ovi cements himself as a second fiddle to Sid in this series.

I just don't have a lot of faith in the caps getting by the Pens.

I like the Caps in this one...they are battle tested now and Trotz is such a good coach.

Washington in 7

Washington in 5. The first round is always the hardest. Caps looked fine in my books.

Leafs last 20 reg season games was 12-6-2. Thats a good team the Caps just beat!
Jackets last 20 reg season games was 10-8-2. They cooled off big time. basically 0.500

I'd like to see Ovechkin win a Stanley Cup, but my gut tells me Penguins in 5.

100%, the HBK line killed the caps, along with some great goaltending from Matt Murray.

I thought the Leafs were a great test for the Capitals, and despite some tight games early in the series, they found their game by the end. It's tough to overcome youthful exuberance in the 1st round, especially when the Leafs gain confidence by winning a couple of games in a series they had no business even being in.

The Pens looked dominant in that Jackets series, so much so that I wonder if anyone can slow them down. However, the Caps are a much more well-rounded team than the Jackets were, with some game breaking offensive talent. I still wonder how far the Pens can go with the defense group they currently have. As the playoffs go on, the defense wears out more and more.

This is a pick'em series for me, but I'm taking the Capitals in 7. Should be fun to watch.

I'm going Caps in 7. This one deserves 7 games no matter who wins.

Don't underestimate Holtby's ability to steal a game.

This year is different. The Caps have such a complete team, and even if they lay an egg, Holtby can steal it for them.

I dislike AO, he is a selfish player and the worst Captain I can remember. The Caps struggled a lot against a young Leafs squad, the Pens steamrolled a very good BJ team. This one will be a slaughter, Pens in 5...maybe 4.
