Is it petty of me that my hatred of everything Oil makes me secretly not mind the Ducks winning just so they can stay ahead of them?

I think it depends on the scenario. If the Flames were not in the race then sure. However, we are only 3 points behind the Ducks.

Lets focus on the Flames winning the division. This is like being in a sprint race and coming in last but being super happy because your enemy classmate came second and didnt win.

Eaves 5-3 Ducks. Two quick goals. Four assists for Getzlaf.

Well, it looks like it's going to be either Anaheim or Edmonton in round 1, with a slight chance at either SJ or Chicago.

Don't see the Ducks or Oilers falling back from their spots. I think for the Flames to take the division, they'd need to win 5 or 6 out of the 7 remaining games and even then, I'm not sure it'd be enough.

Umm considering the team you presumably cheer for is worse off for the Ducks winning? Yeah, that's incredibly petty. But it seems you're getting your wish and we'll be five points back of the division lead after tonight. So there you go.

I don't really believe it matters. The Flames are going to be a very tough matchup for any team.

It is time for Calgary to exorcise their demons at the Honda Center.

I just hope it doesn't come down to a psychological thing with that stupid curse.

Oh, I know it's not rational, just can't help it. Not really like I'm actively cheering for the Ducks, more like I'm not as upset that they win as I normally would be when seeing a crappy OOT scoreboard, that's all.

Having Getzer, Perry, and Fowler get me 8 assists for my fantasy team also lessens the sting.

Me too which is why I'm hoping the Oilers either win the division and we end up a wild card or obviously the other way around. We still hold our own destiny but whatever happens I hope it's the Oilers in the playoffs.

I'll even cheer for them in the first round if it means we get them in the second round. That's how bad I want the Flames to send them packing. The smack talking ammo would be good for at least 5 years.

I really don't want to have to deal with that annoying 80 year old leprechaun who has a seizure every time the Schmucks score until atleast the second round.

If the Flames do end up playing the Oilers I would probably pick the Flames to win, but if the Oilers win I'm really going to enjoy reading this forum.

I want to see the Oilers fail miserably no matter what the circumstance. So if they end up playing someone other than the Flames in round one, I hope they get absolutely stomped. If it's the Flames who happen to knock them out, great. If not, who cares. As long as they're golfing by the time round two starts, I'll be happy.

Then in the small brains of Oiler fans they'd think "well you guys got off easy because the other team didn't play that well and laid down for you guys while we got a hot team" Knocking them out insures we also knock their pride as well.

The way things are trending I see us playing the oilers. I see SJ falling to a wild card spot and Flames and oil taking the 2nd and 3rd spots. In which order I do not know. We still have 2 games against a sharks team that we already match well against.

That would be ideal IMO let.the sharks and ducks beat up on each other. Give us some tenderized meat to devour in the second round
