Those are damn good numbers, especially on mediocre Calgary teams. Furthermore, he played all 6 of his NHL playoff games here, and put up 30+ assists in both full seasons he played here.

Jokinen was criminally underrated. It's a crying shame he didn't get more of a chance to prove himself in the playoffs.
Won't hear me argue Scorp.
Maybe I should have wrote a perceived lack of success. He was underappreciated.

I was able to meet him when I was meeting up with my cousin in the Nashville meetup area after the game. It was a great moment for me.

He seemed a bit taken aback that someone enjoyed watching him when he played in Calgary.

I remember when Mike Cammalleri went on his huge playoff run in Montreal and thinking "we gave up that to keep Olli Jokinen?!".

Olli did pretty good. I liked his quirky ways.

Olli Jokinen is just an odd-looking human.

He's running a hockey school here in south Florida along with Tomas Vokoun, Radek Dvorak, and Petr Sykora. They're trying to grow the game in Florida and give kids a chance to develop here at a young age rather than go up north.

Pretty good article.

His numbers don't mean crap, he was one of the most disappointing players to come to Calgary after being so highly touted.

He disappeared in big games and it was addition by subtraction the moment he left. Twice. No heart, no defense and little hockey IQ. All the tools and no toolbox.

Let's not pretend Jokinen was good here. Weren't you like 9 years old when he was here? I've literally watched every single game Jokinen ever played as a Flame and he was average at best.
Back up that addition by subtraction claim. How much better did the team get without him here?

Two things I remember about him in a Flames uni, his first game against the flyers and him trying to fight Beauchemin.

I liked him.

Also the shootout moves from the other end of the ice. Those were fun to watch.

Wasn't the dancing Iginla that they played after goals made after there was like a dancing Jokinen? I haven't been able to find that dancing thing since..

I get what Calgaryblood is saying. Jokinen was supposed to be the big framed #1 C the team have coveted for so long. He put up 5 points his first game. The flames were unanimously proclaimed as the deadline winners and cup favourites. The bar was set high.

Then his play slowly tapered off that season, he never meshed well with Iggy after the first week. Then he was traded away the next season for absolute trash, only to be brought back. However his 2nd stint was with B. Sutter as the coach and the whole team was very underwhelming as a whole, not necessarily Jokinen.

I remember him being the only player who could skate and carry the puck into the offensive zone. Something the entire team had issues with. But he certainly wasn't trash, and was one of the few bright spots on terrible Panther teams.

I'll miss his gifs, and I'll miss his sweet face.

He gave my son a puck at his first Flames game, I'll love this guy until the end of time just for that.

he was a really good player in Calgary, some people expected too much of him and didn't want to blame Iggy for anything so he became the scapegoat
