Stroman named the starter.
Really surprised they would go that route given what the numbers say. But, Stroman started the crucial game 5 last year against Texas so they know he has big game mettle.
Just hope Gibbons has the hook ready at the first sign he doesn't have his best stuff.

Ben Nicholson-Smith @bnicholsonsmith
Via @MLBNetworkRadio Ross Atkins says Marcus Stroman will start for #BlueJays tomorrow. Liriano could make a difference out of the bullpen.

Not shocked Stroman will start. Gibby showed last year he has alot of confidence in him as he went to him in a couple big games. Don't agree with it and hope it doesn't burn them.
But I also agree that we can talk about the pitching matchup all we want but its the bats that will win/lose the game. The likelihood that they are going to hold the Orioles to 3 or less runs isn't great no matter who is on my mound, so bats need to come to play.

Tillman for the O's, his numbers against the Jays don't look great.

I'm really surprised they arn't using Jimenez. He make the Jays look foolish last week and with how he's pitched all month I doubt it was just a one game. His stuff was filthy.
I consider it a win for the Jays that O's aren't starting Jimenez.

Hmm... Would've preferred Liriano start instead. Stroman would've been my 2nd last choice for this WC game.

Tillman started 4 games against the Jays this year, and although he didn't shut the Jays down completely in any of them, the Orioles won all 4 of those games. Tillman himself was just 1-0 with 3 no decisions.

I'm okay with those start times. I'm on Pat leave right now so I won't be missing any of the games.

So stressed about tomorrow's game. I want that Toronto - Texas matchup SO BAD.

I don't understand why the MLB insists of having playoff games in the middle of the afternoon. OK, people may be able to stream games during work, but why don't they have all night games? It's not like more people will tune in to games during primetime when their teams are not playing

They don't want overlap. Baseball people want to watch every game.
One year I believe they had ALCS and NLCS games on at the same time (either because of rain or football) and the baseball public went berserk.

Not the one...

I think it's a tough sell to advertisers - having two games on at the same time.

Honestly, this is why I haven't been into it quite like last year. Why should I invest that much time during the season watching games when I know they're always going to sked their playoff games at a time I can't watch? It just really rubs me the wrong way. Baseball is so quirky

Really surprised Liriano isn't starting. Bad idea to start Stroman iMO as he has had issues at times all season long, while Liriano has been lights out the laast month or so. Add on to that the Orioles/lefty issues and this choice is an odd one.
