Default STAMPS vs RedBlacks

Stamps(1-1) won decidedly against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers last week while the Redblacks(2-0) defeated the Montreal Alouettes. QB Trevor Harris played really well and might start creating a QB controversy soon if he keeps up playing well. Trevor Harris seems to be having some chemistry with Chris Williams. Stamps defense will be tested on Friday night for sure.

Game Time: Friday, July 8th at 5:00pm Mountain Time in Ottawa.
Televised on TSN, ESPN3

Offense:
RB Jerome Messam rambled for 137 yards in 16 carries last week vs Winnipeg that earned him one of the CFL Star of the Week. QB Bo Levi Mitchell passed for over 309 yards and went for 24 for 37 attempts. He also threw 2 TD passes, one of the TD passes was a spectacular catch by Simon Charbonneau-Campeau. Campeau caught for 35 yards in total. Joe West also could have gotten a great one-handed TD catch but he was stopped by the defender on a 1-yard line. West caught 8 passes for 91 yards while McDaniel caught the most yards of the night with 7 catches for 116 yards.

Defense:
DB Brandon Smith was pretty good against Winnipeg collecting 9 tackles and 1 QB sack. Stamps collected 3 QB sacks for the night, one for Brandon Smith, Charleston Hughes and Quinn Smith. Unfortunately it looks like Quinn Smith might miss the game Friday due to injury last game. Our DB consisted of Fred Bennett, Tommy Campbell, Brandon Smith, Wall, Josh Bell and hopefully Ciante Evans, who missed the game last week, can eliminate Trevor Harris passing game.

Special Team:
Returner Roy Finch seems to be having a good couple of games so far. He is not afraid to hit the hole and not afraid of a big hit also. He returned 7 punts for 67 yards and 3 kickoff returns for 38 yards. Kicker Rene Paredes had a better game last game than the first game. He went for 3 for 4 on FG. Punter Rob Maver had an awesome night against Winnipeg and he even buried a punt to a one yard line late in the game.

GO STAMPS GO!!!!

I'm pretty sure I've told you before, but I love these pre-game write ups. Thanks for doing them!

This should be a fun game. I can see a high scoring affair.

Pierre Lavertu is on the Stamps' Week 3 roster. Listed as a backup to starting centre Cam Thorn. Seven O-line on 46-man for first time. #CFL
Quote:
DT Zach Minter, signed Monday, is also on the roster. Interesting he got the call over Demonte' Bolden, who's been toiling on PR. #CFL

Bakari Grant is also listed as the starter in the slot. Took a whole lot of first-team reps this week. #CFL

Unsurprisingly, LB Glenn Love (shoulder) has been six-gamed. DT Quinn Smith (shoulder) is on one-game IR. #CFL

Drake beat me on the injury list Anyways I am very excited to see how CB Tommy Campbell play against WR Chris Williams. I also want to see Jerome Messam go back-to-back over 100 yards rushing. I am also interested in seeing how Bakari Grant respond to his 2-games benching.

McDaniel TD!! Rene Paredes missed the field goal attempt. This guy is struggling this early season so far.

Alright!! Sackmaster stripped the ball from Trevor Harris and Micah Johnson recovered the fumble.

The Stamps should be trying out place kickers next week.

Damn Ottawa's offense has so many weapons. Williams, Ellingston, Sinopli and others.

Ya, they look pretty good. Only penalties have set them back.

Not liking this game so far. Defense getting their a$$ kick, Paredes missing field goals and now unlucky bounce by Mitchell intercepted by Ottawa. Thank god Tommy Campbell just made an interception at the end zone.
