Never would've guessed Bama would be here after that ugly loss to Ole Miss.

If not for Cardale and the Kick Six, Saban might be looking at 5 titles in a row and 6 in 7. What a run.

The big skip didn't come until it was too late.

What a great game! Congrats Alabama!

Watson is going to be a great one, first overall in 2017 (provided he stays healthy). Clemson deserves a lot of credit, if not for 2 busted coverages it may have been a different story

And maybe the last one for a while. Kirby Smart is gone to Georgia next year so it will be curious to see how the D is next year.

Four since 2009. Pretty awesome.

Because I gotta ...

I watch College Football, and I just see so many glaring mistakes and mismatches. And these were the best two teams in the country. Maybe that is part of the appeal for some people; that it is not as polished as pro football.

Same reason the CFL is "exciting" and the NFL is sometimes considered "boring". Mismatches and lack precision lead to mistakes which leads to blown coverages and turnovers.

NFL teams are like a well oiled machine with german like precision. It's really quite amazing.

That's kind of why I like it, because of the glaring mistakes its more wide open.

Frankly if you watch NFL football, its a chess match, even the worst team is pretty supremely talented across its roster, and the most part the coaching is very good.

Its the tiny mistakes, but you see it in how teams play defense versus offense, its the rare mistakes that get exploited but for the most part, for 3/4 of every games its a grinding stalemate.

You look at last night's game and it was clear where the mismatches were were pretty enormous and it was a combination of scheme and player strengths. It's what makes football exciting to me.

It creates a more wide open game.

Where I notice it the most is tackling. There's soooo many more missed tackles in college than the pros, it's crazy. It actually makes the field seem larger, as it feels like there's a lot more space out there after that first whiff.

That said, that's the best football game I've seen this football season, NFL, NCAA, CFL combined. Wow. I was definitely more into that game last night than Flames/Sharks.

Death penalty incoming?

Quote:
Baylor University announced Thursday that football coach Art Briles has been suspended with intent to terminate, with president Kenneth Starr transitioning to chancellor and athletic director Ian McCaw sanctioned and placed on probation.

Baylor's actions come after the university's board of regents received an independent report from a law firm that investigated the school's response to allegations of sexual assaults by students, including several Baylor football players.

"We were horrified by the extent of these acts of sexual violence on our campus. This investigation revealed the University's mishandling of reports in what should have been a supportive, responsive and caring environment for students," Richard Willis, chair of the Baylor Board of Regents, said in a statement.

"The depth to which these acts occurred shocked and outraged us. Our students and their families deserve more, and we have committed our full attention to improving our processes, establishing accountability and ensuring appropriate actions are taken to support former, current and future students.

Why do people go right to the Death Penalty? It's happened once in Div 1 football in the last 30 years and it's because the moronic program went right back to doing what it was just punished for, during the punishment window.

A Penn State staffer was raping kids and they didn't even get the Death Penalty.

I would imagine the difference here is there was no student-athlete involvement in the Penn State case, whereas here you have criminal acts by the athletes being covered up by the school. Besides it's Baylor, they were only ever relevant during the Briles years so even if they don't get the death penalty, they'll get the effective death penalty by returning to being a horrible program.
