Oddly, the people who paid $80 are not even in the rink per se. They are watching the game in the Molson house area which is basically a big entrance to the rink. They haven't even gone through the security and ticket agents for the rink.

oh really?
that's so weird... i assumed that they would have been on the concourse or something like that...? I wonder if the Maple Leafs fans have to pay for their outdoor watching area?
very odd about the bathrooms though... if/when they build a new arena here, that would be something that you design for the occupancy load... and then add 20% on top of that max occupancy just in case...
going to check out Jerryworld down in Arlington in September, so i'm curious what that facility will be like...
thanks for the reply

Really hate how Randorf creams himself every time McDavid picks up speed in the neutral zone. It's seriously vomit inducing.

Maroon tells the ref " don't talk to me like that". Ref goes and warns McLellen. Maybe the refs are getting sick of the entitled Oilers.

Ummmm, doesn't matter how much I hate the person, I wouldn't want to wish any harm to their dogs. Dogs dying is never heartwarming. Sorry.

Bathrooms (and urinals even more so) are such a small expense, and small footprint item with huge impact on the fan experience. Standing in line for the bathroom is just an opportunity for fans to pile on and complain about the new arena, rather than focus on the positives.
Hell if you rebuilt the saddledome but the only change was real concessions and 30% more urinals, I'd pay $500m of taxpayer dollars.

Wow tuning into this intermission, you'd think the Oilers were kicking the crap out of the sharks.
Oh they're so tough though.

Yeah, but in all fairness, Kats needs the money. After all, he basically just a small business owner who funded the entire arena with his own money

The fans in the Molson area will hear some crowd noise but they are a few hundred feet from a view of the ice and they will have no interaction with the viewing crowd. Technically, they are on the concourse. I don't know what bathrooms those folks would use aside from the casino ones.
Here is a pic of the "concourse area". Notice at the bottom right are the metal detectors and past those is the rink.

Lack of bathrooms is one thing. The escalators are another issue.
