Default Replacement car battery recommendation

Any recommendations for what to buy or what to stay away from in terms of a replacement car battery? Im not looking for the cheapest solution as its for a vehicle I will be keeping for a while.

Interstate are really good. Certainly not the cheapest but not outrageous either. The best price I found when shopping around is Compu-care on 16thave NW for them.

I put a Canadian tire battery in my rig a couple of years ago and so far so good.

The wife vehicle has a fire stone battery that is a little bit older and so far so good as well.

That being said, years ago the gold standard was seemingly a die hard from sears

I just had a battery die, it was a motomaster from Canadian Tire and it lasted 7 years. I replaced it with the exact same one. Cheap batteries but I've never had an issue

I just replaced an OEM AC Delco battery that lasted 10 years. Also like Optimum but some folks have had mixed results.

I believe the Costco batteries are re-branded Interstate, so ya. Probably a better price there.

Another +1 for Costco. Got it for $99 instead of paying $170 at Canadian Tire.

Energizer batteries at Walmart are made by Johnson Controls. Good batteries, same manufacturer as Interstate.

Exide Edge AGM batteries if you are looking for a higher quality battery. They are also rebranded as Bosch Platinum AGM. Much better than Optimum who has been hit and miss since moving their manufacturing to Mexico.

Put the biggest physical sized battery that you have room for. Don't just put one in because that's what the parts monkeys tell you. Measure the space, top or side mount and see what sides the terminals are on. Now go look at the wall of them. Bigger=better in terms of CCA and amp/hour.

The walmart ones are recommended and are lower priced than most.

I've looked at the AGM batteries and with them being approximately double in cost - I decided it was better to get 2 cheaper priced Costco batteries every 3-4 years vs making an AGM one last 8 years.

Costco also gives you some money back under it's warranty too.

Interstate and costco batteries are made by Johnson controls (better manufacturer in my opinion). Canadian tire are made by excide. napa house brand is made by east penn. those are pretty much the 3 main manufacturers. can't beat costco for the price but they may not have the right size for your vehicle trim level (ie tow kit versus no to kit).

Costco also have like a 10 year warranty which is kind of decent. not sure what cdn tire is but i think it's not too bad either, not 10 years though.
