On Calgary the only comparable would be Brodie, and it's not a particularly good one.

Murphy is signed longer and cheaper, plays a more physical game, but hasn't jelled as well as Brodie has.

Murphy was team captain of Team USA in the world juniors. He has much upside. Hjammer is 30 and has played tough minutes for some time and seemed to regress last year towards the end of the season and in the playoffs.

Like many trades, Arizona appears to get the better player today but for more money and less years.

The Chicago boards suggest Bowman has coveted Murphy for some time, FWIW.
