God, I hope not. I mean, he was alright with the Canucks, but I'm hoping when Feaster says European free agents he means young free agents who weren't drafted who could become legitimate prospects. Tambellini is 28 years old now.

So far:
Sylvester with 1 goal
Nemisz with 2 goals
Horak with 1 assist
Byron with 1 assist
Aliu with 1 assist
All those guys are 23 or younger.....nice to see the prospects contributing right away in the playoffs.

Yeah thanks, my post was a dig at the Flames site who had Puustinen listed for a few years after we no longer had his rights. They have been a little slow at updating in the past.

I guess it depends what your expectations are. Tambellini certainly wouldn't fall into the category of prospect, but if it is minor league depth who can be called up, like Kolonos, Wilson, Piskula, etc - players in their late 20s, Tambellini would be of that ilk

I'd rather they have Tambellini at league minimum then JOkinen at anything over $2 million....
The result will be the same, no playoffs, but at least you get a fresh look and lots of cap space in case something good comes up.
Oh, and Tambellini would be hungry.

What else is new? I saw an interview with Kolanos recently where he worked with his new trainer in a specific way where he'd peak in his performance/fitness/conditioning at the end of the season so he's at his absolute best for the post-season. Can't question his dedication when he does that.

Alright! Great start to the series! Exactly what I was hoping for.
Kolanos is an AHL beast.
Glad to see Nemisz scoring... that kid can be a good pro, he's just got to find a niche and become excellent at it.

Nemisz should be in Moss's role next year. It will be very disapointing if they re-sign Moss. I think Nemisz has done enough in the AHL to warrant a serious look in the NHL.
Moss has not been bad, relative to the other veterans, but his inability to stay healthy is reason enough to let him walk. If the Flames are serious about injecting more youth into the lineup, Nemiscz for Moss is an obvious move.

Moss may have injury issues, but he's completely undervalued because he does something that most of our other forwards can't do with regularity. Drive play north and win the CORSI / puck possession battle. Not signing Moss would be a huge mistake. Sign him to a price tag that includes his injury risk, and enjoy the good things he does when he's healthy.

That really depends on the roster. I agree with your assessment but its tough to justify a spot for a depth guy who only plays 60-games per season and is inconsistent offensively to your top 9. I prefer him to Stempniak though.
Perhaps on the fourth line as a depth player who can play up. But Calgary seems intent once again to fill the fourth line with grinder's that have to be sheltered. I guess Feaster would rather play our top line in a checking roll so he can give our fourth line the high ground. Maybe he forgot his top line consists of players like Iginla and he thinks going to sign Datsyuk. Dunno.

The positive thing about Moss is when he's healthy, he's really good.
And when he's hurt, you can try another guy in his roster spot.
But he's too fragile to be reliable.

The Heat win! 4-2. And they bring a 2-0 series lead back to Abbotsford. First round is best of 5.

4-2 Heat Kolanos with another 2-goal-effort, including the GWG. Walter and Rheault (EN) with the other goals. Taylor with 27 saves.
The Heat now have as many as 3 home games to win the series.

Heat win 4-2 to take the 2-0 lead back home. They just need 1 win at home and have three games to get it.
9 straight wins going back to the regular season, and with Norfolk's loss on Saturday, the Heat now have the longest active winning streak in the AHL.
