"Insta me" or "Snapchat me"

Closing e-mails with "Sincerely," or even "Regards," when someone is sending a passive aggressive message to me. Might as well just end it with "#### you" or "smell you later". I dislike that that's the standard closer for letters and messages. Going to branch out and be more creative. "This is the twenty first century" after all.

Just excessive swearing in general when someone is in public. I swear a lot myself and recognize it is a good outlet for daily stresses but I do 90% of it in private or with a close friend when the filter can come off. So many ####ing unbehaved little twerps (many, grown men) that run their mouths when you're walking around downtown. Deserve a swift kick to their little boy jewels.

I'm now seriously considering signing all emails with 'Smell you later'...

I'm in. Let's start a trend and see how long before someone writes in the gear grinder thread about it

I hate when people referring me as "boss"
Like ordering at Subway:

"What can I get you boss?"
"Chicken Ranch with Bacon."
"OK, you want it toasted boss?"
.....
"What you want for your veggies boss?"
"Lettuce"
"Yes boss"
"Tomatoes"
"Certainly boss"
"Onions"
"Anything you want boss"
.....
"Yes boss" "OK boss" "See you next time boss"

So freaking annoying....

One I hear often at work is deep dive. Let's go do a deep dive on that.

Just read this on Instagram and it reminded me of this thread:

Referring to Toronto as "the six".

This one bugs me irrationally. As if saying 416 isn't short enough.

Oh yeah, those. Also

"Just curious" or "just asking". No you're not, you're about to make a point in a roundabout passive aggressive way.

Part of the reason I hate that is because it makes it much harder to legitimately just ask a question out of curiosity, without people assuming you have some hidden agenda.

Add to that all of the farming-related sayings being used during business meetings:

"There are many ways to skin a cat"
"We can't put the cart in front of the horse"
"We are comparing apples and oranges here"
"Need to reach for the low-hanging fruit first"
"We can kill two birds with one stone"

Just say them out straight!! Don't use these slangs in office meetings, especially when there are people who may be new to the country and couldn't catch on the metaphorical meaning of these sayings....

That's often done by someone who has spent a fair amount of time in the penal system.

Are they meaning to quote a Will Ferrel movie or are they serious?

No, we need to flesh out this idea. Add more substance to it. Not flush it out. Flushing it out is the opposite of fleshing it out.

Some ideas do need to be flushed.
