Interesting that Backlund was talking with Tanev at the beginning of the season and thought he would be signing an extension. Maybe Tanev signs here in the off-season?

Man Weegar is quickly becoming my favourite Flame, him and Coleman. That Andersson quote, i'd love to see the whole thing with context. The way it is presented by Francis comes off like a really cold answer from Rasmus, and I wonder if there is more said after that Francis chose not to highlight.

Weegar is awesome and sometimes is probably overlooked in that Tkachuk trade.

I don't know... something seems off with Andersson...it's quite possibly just a Francis cherrypicked quote but honestly it hasn't seemed like he's been the happiest with the teams direction all season.

Think they need to have a serious discussion with him this offseason and be open to moving him if he's unhappy with the direction of the team.

We know him and Mangiapane are close friends, and Mangiapane reportedly wants out, so maybe not that much of a leap to assume Andersson is maybe not the most thrilled either.

And I totally agree about Weegar. That guy is a major silver lining to that Tkachuk trade.

I didn't mind Greer at all. I don't mind keeping him around. But they have to be willing to sit/move him and he has to epxect they will, if the kids knock at the door.

With Andersson it's less about the on-ice performance TBH. Everyone has a down year every once in a while.

He just hasn't seemed as happy or vocal off the ice as he had in prior years.

Greer fit in so well, great pick up and I thought at first it was pointless.

Fully expect him to be back at a very reasonable number. And yes, he'll need to be comfortable knowing he could see the press box on some nights.

I was pretty happy with alll the bottom line vets who were in and out of the lineup: Greer, Hunt, Rooney.

I might be the biggest Rasmus supporter here and that quote doesn't give me any confidence that he wants to stay here longterm, but on the other hand, he's got 2 season left, so there's really nothing for him to say at this point because he's right, there are 2 more years here (though I guess Weegar is in a similar situation with multiple years left but is sticking his head out and saying what he's saying). I don't think it's a sure thing Andersson is looking to leave though, and I'm hoping he extends next year during his last year of his deal.

Edit, Damnit just saw this! And I feel a heck of a lot better about his love for the team!
