I wonder if it means the band is included but it’s an odd way of saying it.

Love that Fred Penner is up there in large font.

I once had a few beers with Fred Penner after he played a U of A student event years ago. Man can shotgun fast

If you were wondering if Smith would use the Critical Infrastructure Defence Act against the highway protester, well, LOL, of course not.

Quote:
According to Cochrane RCMP, obstructions are expected to continue today,” she told the premier. “Is the province at all considering using the Critical Infrastructure Defence Act, and is there any direction being given to the protesters to move to where they don’t constrict these economic corridors?”

“Well, look, let me give that direction,” Ms. Smith responded sharply. (Pay attention when Ms. Smith begins a response with an introductory “Well, look.” It’s usually a sign that a whopper is about to land.)

“I don’t support it when Extinction Rebellion glues themselves to the street and stops traffic, and I don’t support anyone stopping traffic as well. You can protest. Do it at the side of the road. Don’t interfere with the movement of goods. Don’t interfere with the movement of your neighbours. It’s the reason why we have the Critical Infrastructure Act, and I would just ask people to be compliant with the law.”

Quote:
“I just wanted to follow up on a previous question there, premier,” said the reporter from The Canadian Press when she got her chance. “You just said in regards to the Critical Infrastructure Defence Act that you would just ask people to be compliant with the law. Can you just tell us, yes or no, whether you’re willing to use that act to quell these protests if they continue to affect highway traffic?”

Premier Smith trotted out a similar talking point, with an addition. “As you know, police make their own decision on arresting decisions,” she said sourly. “That’s not a decision for a premier to make.”

Are you suggesting they might not be "the most discriminated against group that I’ve ever witnessed in my lifetime"?

There were a lot of wild moments in today’s presser, but this one was something special…

Wherein Smith claims that BC nurses are “expected” to hand out crack pipes in hospials, drugs can’t be confiscated and you can now bring weapons into BC hospitals.
Just lies so blatantly and easily

We don't want the government to intervene, so as the government we are going to... intervene?

LOL. Cut red tape!

Quote:
The premier announced legislation declaring that next year any municipality, school or agency that wanted any dollar or any deal with Ottawa would first need provincial civil servants to review, deliberate and give Alberta's seal of approval.

Based on the new legislation, that covers an Alberta town arranging new Canada Post mailbox sites, or Red Deer's next sponsored Canada Day celebrations, or a school board wishing to continue a funding program for Indigenous students with disabilities. The list of examples could stretch far longer.
Breaking news, stupid leader does stupid things.

The UCP is so insecure when it comes to federal funding it's embarrassing. Talk about a colossal waste of time at the taxpayers' expense, this new policy. Champions of small government my ass.

Worst government in the history of Canada.

I mean… you basically are. The province is bragging about bringing all these outsiders in, does anyone think a mass brainwash is going to work? I’m pretty sure you need to be born there to be indoctrinated to the level I felt.

What happens to a city that just ignores the legislation, similar to how Alberta treats Federal ones?

I just mentioned to my wife that AM (AUMA) should encourage municipalities to ignore that law if enacted. If all do that, what’s the province to do? Punish the municipalities financially, I suppose, but there’s strength in numbers.
