Ya he basically said that due to his injury last year it could be tough for him to beat out someone out of camp.

This further explanation to me means he's saying we don't have a 4D as of yet, and one will have to be acquired or signed.

Could be Stone
A different UFA
or an acquired player

certainly suggests its a hole to fill.

I would be thrilled if Rasmus and Janko found themselves in the opening night lineup come October.

- 95% STH renewal
So....the City is doing all of the planning?

The City recommended the site as an alternative and the City has come up with a plan and is submitting it to the council?

Seems a little one sided, no?

Controversial cause they would be "stealing" a bit.

This wasn't outright said, basically inferred. He couldn't go into much, there was a lot of questions about the new rink, since there was a reporter there.

I'll edit that a bit, Flames submit to the city, city amends and submits to counsel and then council gets back to Flames. This is only about the building plans and its costs and payment.

Great recap OP, just a couple of things that registered with me:

King:
-Came off slightly less like DB than most times I have heard him, but still...
-Made it clear he wasn't going to say anything controversial
-Indicated that CalgaryNext was basically dead, but they still hold a candle of faint hope (no surprise, really)
-indicated that city counsel was going to hear what the city negotiating team recommends. Still subject to some internal city amendments, but the hope is that they provide a framework that the Flames can work with. (Edit: it didn't sound as bad as that. Not implying that the city has to make the proposal, just that right now the ball is in the city's court and the Flames are expecting to hear back very soon).

Burke:
-Sees Lazar as a 10 year guy here (might have been BT that said that)
-Did not get into the "threats" to move, although King joked about it a bit.
-In question period, made it clear how much he loves Bennett, in response to a question about the OV rumour

Treliving:

-Usual BT. Good speaker, but couldn't really offer much up, as one can understand.
-as for the 4th D question. What Bingo said. I think referring to Stone, but they don't have anyone locked up for next year, and the kids may develop into 4D or better, it won't be for next year.

Questions:
Mostly covered, but one question that I couldn't help think was a CP member: "I noticed that the new Flames jersey teaser had a black C, to the disappointment of many fans. How different will it be?" King: it will be remarkably similar to what we have now.

I'm curious as to whether the reference was to either of Ollas-Mattson or Rafikov.

Both have been developing in men's leagues, and I believe both are rumoured to be willing to come over to NA, are they not.

No one here really would know if they fit the mould that the Flames are looking for, except the Flames.

Remarkably similar?

Controversially spectacular?

Is this Stone? Not sure I understand this one.
It was a two part question. The first question was if he thought the Flames plan on having a goalie in place before the expansion draft. Brad said "it depends". He basically said that they are looking at all options but in an ideal world, it would be nice to have a goalie in place before the 21st.

The second question was if Brad thought the Flames #4 Dman was already on the Flames roster. Brad said that they technically had Stone signed until the 30th but he was essentially a UFA. Brad then asked back if he thought a younger Dman from the minors would be able to handle 20+ minutes in the #4 role. He thought it would be difficult for him and might be too much to ask for. My impression was, he was looking for an established player for that role.

However he did say many times that the time to find out if a younger player is ready is in training camp so we'll see.

I was thinking the same thing, but at least King was honest about the jerseys.

What will they look like:

"Basically what we have now with Adidas stripes." <-Not Actual KK quote

Done.

I dont know why people get their hopes up.

Very interesting. I feel he gets underrated on here a bit just due to what he was acquired for, and how little he played down the stretch, but this kid is still a major wild card. Very stocky build, RHS, great skater, nice on the forecheck and also has some puckskills. If things go well, he could put up ~30 points next season. Who knows, he may even find himself beside Johnny and Mony at some point.

Yep, they consider him the second round pick as he's better than what they would have been able to pick.

I think you mean AT MINIMUM, they consider his value to be that of exceeding a second round pick.
