Default Hunter Smith suffers serious injury? Update: back to playing

Guy Flaming @TPS_Guy
Sounds like Calgary #Flames prospect Hunter Smith went down with a serious injury a few minutes ago. @Oshawa_Generals for updates.

Oshawa Generals @Oshawa_Generals
Hunter Smith was taken down before the goal...Smith getting assistance off the ice

EXTRA 90.5 FM ‏@ExtraPtbo
All eyes on the @Oshawa_Generals bench as Hunter Smith in extreme pain, and being attended to by paramedics

Shoulders are the worst. I hope it isn't too severe. Tough kid so likely bad if the paramedics are involved.

Can confirm now that Smith was taken to hospital, no updates beyond that

A few people on twitter are saying that Smith may have broken his arm and that he passed out and collapsed in the tunnel.

If the reports of him being in extreme pain are accurate, the passing out makes sense. Eventually the brain just turns off and down you go.

I haven't seen it at all and it may be sour grapes but Gens fans are saying it was a late high hit that injured him on twitter - no penalty on the play though.

okay sounds like he just got winded and collapsed. he is being scratched for tonight's game as a precautionary measure. a few reports out there that the coach expects him back in the lineup soon.

Yeah it's actually kinda refreshing on the injury front right now, knock on wood.
Bennett is close and it's been frustrating with some of our big names always injured (Bennett, Klimchuk, Poirier, Sieloff, Wotherspoon etc)

edit: forgot about Arnold boo

Can we change this thread to "Hunter Smith avoids serious injury"? I keep having a small heart attack seeing the title.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

This please. Every new post makes me think there is some terrible update. Like this new post will freak out a few others.

Smith finally returned to the ice today.

2g 1a +3 in a 5-4 OT win

was named #2 star and scored the tying goal late in the 3rd to force OT

That's awesome, what a way to return. Hope he can get that start of the season mojo back and ends the year on a hot streak.

Imagine if he was and got a three point night anyway.

2 points tonight, he was head scoreless last night however. 5 points in 3 games since returning.

Is it wrong to want next season's training camp to start now?

Even with the awesome season underway right now, I can't wait to see these kids play some games in Calgary.
