Corporate Email Signature Samples

I work for a non-profit organization and we are working on some email protocols and standardized signatures.

Our communications people wondered how we might be able to get some samples that some companies around town might use, so we can see what is out there.

If people would like to volunteer and send me an email at my work address, it would be much appreciated.

Send me a PM and I will forward you my address. If you like, I could sanitize names and phone numbers etc from the samples you send me, just let me know in the email.

I used to work at Loblaw and this is featured at the bottom of all of their emails:

Not really, although it doesn't hurt.

I am thinking of companies who have branding, logos, colors and stuff built into their signatures. Stuff that looks a little more 'fancy'

I've gone through this with a few companies and I've always found that using images in signatures is a huge pain in the ass for both setting it up with all the users and for the people receiving the emails.

Often times it shows up as an attachment rather than embedded so when actually searching for an attachment from that person every email looks like it has one.

I would suggest going strictly with font and a colour. Pick a web safe font so everyone sees the same thing. Something like:

I have noticed that in my testing as well.

I am trying to steer them into something that isn't overly complicated, but in the end it is their choice.

Text signatures are much preferred by me as they allow for easy copy and pasting into contacts, letters, etc.

They make emails bigger, they have horribly inconsistent presentation in client email apps (as others have noted), and they absolutely pollute threads when trying to unravel a complicated discussion.

So I have to keep track of who has my contact info and who doesn't? I send out emails to other law firms, clients, government representatives, etc., etc., etc. every day. I don't want to have to try to remember who has my contact info and who doesn't, or type it out every time for a new recipient.

I have a longer signature for any new emails generated by me, and a short, concise one for any replies or forwards.

I would post mine but I don't think you can have that much text in a single post. The this email is intended for the recipient.... sections are all BS. Don't waste your time, you can't randomly send stuff to people and bind them to an agreement of confidentilaity.

Thanks a lot for the input, I am sure it will help me a lot.

For us, the real driving force behind it is our management who is sick of people doing foolish things like sending emails out of the agency with strange fonts, a horribly stretched logo, stationary, or a signature that is inappropriate.

My input so far has been the technological options to provide the signature and trying to get force people to use it, ranging from a couple peices of 3rd party software, Exchange transport, Outlook templates and even just copy and pasting the formatting from another document.

Today I was part of the 'design conversation' and had more than a few things that I had to explain that were a really bad idea or totally pointless. Disclaimer text within an image, instead of text, for example.

It's especially bad when the marketing department insists employee signatures must include image links to the company's LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Google+, and YouTube pages...

Haha, then I'm not surprised they want images in their signatures. It should now be your goal to make them the worst signatures ever, including using some sort of giant handwriting script font for their name. And maybe a notebook background image on all their emails.

Edit: For what it's worth I had copy and pasted Freestyle Script font, which looks like handwriting, in the large blue font above. The forum didn't accept it.
