Thought I would bump this thread as my 3 year Optik TV/Inet contact is ending in about a month and I am weighing my options. They have a promo right now giving away a new 42' LED TV if you sign up on a three year contract. I know they say the promo is for customers who have not had Optik service in the last 90 days, but am wondering if anyone has been able to get their Retention dept. to offer them the promo in exchange for signing a new three year contract? If not I'll probably get Shaw for 6 months on a promo rate and decide what to do from there.

Anyone know how can I get a new remote?
A few buttons are starting to only work intermittently on one of ours - maybe it's a sign we should be watching less TV?

Maybe you should let your girlfriend / wife take control of the remote. I'm sure you'd save some wear and tear that way.
edit - I think I have a spare one actually if you're interested. Price = free

I've been able to call telus support. They asked me to do a couple troubleshooting things (change batteries), then when it was confirmed the remote was bad, they shipped a new one to me for free. This was during my 3 year contract, however.

Another update coming down the pipe... youll have the ability to view only subscribed channels in guide (finally) Plus a few more improvements.
Also, the Galaxie mobile app (music streaming) is available to all optik tv customers.

where is the setting for this? My software says version 2.3 (did some update when I first turned it on today), but I don't see any setting to make it only show available channels.

just go to your guide options and edit your guide and unclick all the channels you're not subscribed too.. took me like 5 mins.

Did you have to unselect each channel manually? Or is there an easier way?

I never said it was a new feature.. it's just a solution and it literally took me 5 minutes. If you're to lazy to do that then wait for the roll out I guess

I did it manually but I mean I only watch channels from 600-700 basically so it didn't take me very long. It shows you a little preview window when you roll through it so just deselect all the channels that are black.

Anyone know how to get rid of the "previous channel" list? It came back with the update, and can't be disabled by typing "recent" in the sys. Info screen.
