Default Sasha Lakovic's fight for life.

Haven't seen this posted yet, but heard a mention of a go fund me page for him on Team 1040, I believe after an interview. After looking it up, I see he has a brain tumor and is gearing up for the fight of his life. I donated 10 bucks for his fight to beat it. Was a tough customer on the ice, but is a big family guy off it.

Good luck Pitt Bull! Here is a link if you want to help him out.

Oiler fan. That's important to note.

The story on the page says the goal is $4500.00 but the donate page says the goal is 350k?

When I was 7 years old, I had an opportunity to travel with the Flames for a road game. I was fortunate to spend lots of time with the players. Lakovic was the nicest player on the entire team. It's sad that such a great guy had to pass away at such a young age.

I met Sasha at The Lion's Den Cafe in East Van a couple years back. He was super nice and chatted with me for quite a while about his time with the Flames, Lucic, the hockey game on the TV, and his life in hockey. He had a young daughter that he was eager to show me a picture of and talk about. It felt like talking to a friend even though I'd just met him. Sad news.

RIP Sasha!

Completely forgot that Kevin Constantine was an assistant coach that year.

I cut out a picture from The Sun the day after the game of Lakovic half in the crowd, legs in the air, going after the fan in Edmonton. It stayed on the wall in my mom's basement for 20 years, until she moved last December.

Wasn't there something about him claiming to be abducted by aliens or Martians or something weird like that? He was a different dude, that's for sure. RIP

RIP Sasha! Good memories of him in the flaming C as a 10 year old. I remember thinking 'who the heck is this guy?' when i first heard his name. Hard to believe that at one point that season, 96-97, the Flames dressed Lakovic, Kruse, Stern, Huscroft, Hulse, McCarthy and Simpson all at the same time. Talk about a tough team. Sign of the times for sure.
