Tom's House of Pizza - 5/5 if you love thin crust (think cardboard), 3/5 otherwise
Boston Pizza - 3/5 if you don't mind the $ or the runs you'll get after the Spicy Perogy
Panago - 3.5/5 one of the better chains
Coco Brooks - 4.5/5 I love this place especially the Hot Wing pizza
Pizza Hut - 3.5/5 if fresh from the oven, 2.5/5 after 20 minutes, 1/5 the next day (too doughy)
Papa Johns - 3/5 before the food poisoning ($6 Monday medium 1 topper), haven't been there since the food poisoning
Pizza 73 - 2/5 Pizza is pretty brutal but one of the better places for wings if they don't skimp on sauce
Sammys - 3.5/5 I don't mind this place once in a while, pizza is very filling but like BPs it's expensive

I second the Vern's Pizza selection, it is definitely the best pizza we have in Saskatoon including all the major chains.
Just remember the original is about 1.5 inches thick, and then there is the thin crust stuff. So make sure you figure out which one you want before ordering.

I LOVE Verns, but it is a different kind of pizza, not for everyone.
Also I thought maybe it was too small a chain to include.
Forgot about Tom's too. Great local chain and many locations. Maybe the best for your criteria.
Never had this Coco people are mentioning.

Tried a place in Saskatoon called Pizza Pirates. It was almost IDENTICAL to Verns, but had less meat on it and the crust was crisp (verns can sometimes get soggy from meat/grease overload.
I highly recommend.

I love Pizza Hut personally. I generally go the private pizza shop first, but if I had to pick a chain, it'd definitely be Pizza Hut. Can't get enough of their crust.

I really like Western pizza in Cranston. The meat and spicy Hawaiian are awesome.

I don't hate Coco Brooks, but their pizza crusts are saturated in grease. Sort of how Pizza Hut's pan pizzas are / were.
On another note, not sure why people say BP is expensive. Their online menu looks reasonable. We usually order it for work luncheons.

You're looking at around $65 for two large pizzas after tax

Hmm, so you are correct. For some reason I just assumed my company wouldn't buy expensive pizzas for our lunches. I should consider myself lucky in that case then.
Western Pizza is good, as others have said. I have tried the one out by Harvest Hills. I would have to say it's also a tad on the expensive side, but good.

The best I ever had.... Harvest House pizza in Three Hills... I used to cook there, pan crust, sweet and tangy sauce... Blended mozzarella. Yum

I expect to get roasted for this, but Dominos is my favourite of the something-like-pizza chains. Pepperoni and Italian sausage with a side of cheese bread, two or three times a year. For some reason medium tastes better. My ex-fiance thought I was crazy for thinking that, but Dominos' large pizza just tastes different, sort of like how ripple potato chips taste different than non-ripple ones, even if they're the same flavour.
As an aside, I think a good pizza has to do with the pepperoni. Some joints use thick ham-like pepperoni, and bury it under the cheese where it doesn't crisp up nicely. Vern's is great for piling on thinly-sliced pepperoni on top of the cheese and crisping it to perfection.
Not a fan of thick crusts, deep dish, chicago style, greek style, etc. pizzas. Hate them, actually.

If anybody is into taking their pizza nerdiness to a whole new level, this blog is necessary reading: http://slice.seriouseats.com
It's mainly geared towards making your own, but there's some great articles on things like why pepperoni curls, heat dispersal in an oven on different racks... that sort of thing.

I have absolutely no idea why certain pizza places do not place meat (namely pepperoni) on top of the pizza by default. There is nothing worse than biting into a pizza with soggy deli meat under the layer of cheese.

This is the only good thing about franchise pizza.

I like Panago for chains but, Sidewalk Citizen makes the best pizza no question. The guy is a bread nerd, and the crust is probably best I ever had.

I go to the Gondola Pizza in Acadia regularly. Love this place for sure. Some of the best pizza I've had. I also love Famosa and we've always had it take out but, i throw it back in the oven for another minute or so.
