Credit where it's due though; that was remarkable! Almost surely the goal of the year.

On the first day? Unlikely!

Yeah I realise that, but still. How many goals are going to be more impressive than that one?

Fair enough, it was a great goal.

And once again the entire top of the league wins (other than City!) so this entire set of fixtures was just keeping pace.

Well only a few days until Spurs take care of business at home and tighten things up! Let's be honest...basically everyone wants it to happen, save for Vlad.

Well the streak they're on is undeniably a good one. But when you really watch them, they're not that incredible. I think that Wednesday could be really interesting because Spurs were crushing them for basically 45 minutes and it took them a world-class strike to get back into the game. The second half was a little more even, and they capitalised on one major screw-up to manage a 2-1 victory in that one, at Stamford Bridge. That was a Spurs line-up without a few key players though, specifically Rose and Alderweireld who are both back for Wednesday.

Then you look at some of the victories and it's not exactly awe inspiring. Stoke put up 2 goals this past weekend and had it tied midway through the second half, again at Stamford Bridge. Then you have really close wins against Palace and WBA over the past few weeks mixed in there as well.

I'm not saying they're terrible, but I think they're beatable. I wish Spurs had Lamela back for this one, but as it is they have a much fuller, healthy squad and at home should make it very interesting at the least.

With Liverpool dropping points at Sunderland today, Chelsea with a chance to go 8 clear. Still seems a touch early to be saying this, but a Chelsea win today might just put the league out of reach.

Well that was annoying. Less then 48 hours between games, and drop 2 points on the back of 2 Sunderland penalties.

Also not sure how the Sunderland player goes back on the pitch when he clearly has a potential concussion.

That was to be expected. After the huge City game we were likely to see this.

Only way to look at it is 4 points out of 6.

Some of the schedule at this point is at least questionable. Like seriously, how has Chelsea had so much time off? They played boxing day, NYE and then Wednesday. A number of other teams have played that 48 hour turn and it's just plain not even. A couple teams in action tomorrow have that same two days as well, which is a disadvantage I think. The extra day of rest can make a big difference.

Yeah that is an atrocious red card. Wouldn't be surprised if West Ham gets some kind of make up call later.

Man U doesn't seem very assertive. I'm thinking the Hammers might still squeak out a win. Fingers crossed.

And yeah, that red card was brutal.

Could we be watching him against the next club he'll manage? Wenger's contract is up. Arsenal would do well to get Howe.

I hope not. But if I were them, he'd be very high on the list.
