This is the 2nd highest percentage for making the playoffs all season. We are one good stretch from really cementing ourselves as a playoff team. A win tonight puts the Flames over 70% to make the playoffs. They have 6 games left against LA, Nashville, and St. Louis. Their destiny is within their own hands.
Did you forget who I am?

I am very happy with their play of late besides the Arizona game. This team has just toyed with my emotions and I wish we were within striking distance of the top 3.

I love LA's schedule though.

That Buffalo schedule is crazy down the stretch - 14 of their last 22 games are in a back to back situation.

LA has zero games against a back to back opponent, and plays 4 times after playing the night before (2 of them against us!)

I don't like to cheer for Edmonton but it would be awesome if they could lock up the #1 position in the Pacific and play against the Flames in the first round. The Flames owe them a few ####-kickings after the way that the season series has gone.

I'd rather they blow it and miss the playoffs again.

At least one more time, so they can have a new record all to themselves.

We are just about getting into that time of year for magic numbers, but to put LAs current deficit into perspective. If you believe that the cut off is going to be around 90 points this year, the following records would be required:

Flames: 10-8-2
LA: 13-7-2

ROW is even so far so it would come down to the season series. As many have alluded to, a bad weekend for LA and the Flames could just about bury them. The same would be true for the flames also in the next two games.

Playoff positivity, for sure! The bullseye is on the Ducks and Oilers as the Flames are just 6 points back of them. That's right, the Flames are in their rear view mirrors fast approaching and the Sharks are within striking distance. Go Flames, lasso those teams.

Much talk of the Flames vs Kings four more times this year....but the Kings also play the Oilers three times. If the Flames take care of their own business against the Kings it would be awesome to see them beat the tar out of the Oil!

Looking good.

Those 3 extra points picked up in segment 9 are huge. If the Flames win the the last 3 segments (4-3-0, 4-3-0, 3-2-0) it will take them to 92 points. IF they reach that mark (need to aim higher though), here are the example threshold for the teams below us which they would not be able to catch us. So they need to do better than the following if we finished 11-8-0:

STL 12-9-0
LA 13-7-1
WPG 14-4-1
VAN 16-4-1
DAL 16-3-1

For poops and giggles

ARI 20-1-0
COL Can not catch. Their Magic# is sitting at 12 right now. Even if they won out they would be eliminated some time in the 2nd 7-game segment.

For the record the Magic# is calculated to having one more point than the opponent so it does not have to take ROW into account.

Tuesday's OOT is going to be crazy. All teams listed here, except for Anaheim, are in action. Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be wild!

I tend to look back, at who's coming after the Flames. But maybe either one of Edmonton or Anaheim can be run down here. Anaheim looks to be a bit indifferent with how they are responding to Crusty Carlyle. A guy who's known to grate on his players in short order and has a history with Getzlaf and Perry. Edmonton has played well, but can Cam Talbot keep it up for the rest of the season? I think I give the Oiles my Syl seal of Approval that you can guarantee them as a playoff team.
