What do they do with Rittich next season, do they re-sign him? They have to put Schneider somewhere and Parsons is eligible for the AHL as well if I'm not mistaken. Its too bad we dont have a legit starter on the flames or Rittich and Gillies could battle it out for the backup spot next year.
Edit: unless Johnson is our legit starter?

Johnson now 0.922 - 13th in league amongst goalies with 10 or more games played.
Rittich now 0.936 - 3rd in AHL amongst goalies with 10 or more games played.
Is it ridiculous to consider Rittich for a spot start in Calgary? Elliott's stats for the year are awful and even looked shaky in his win streak. He is getting starts based solely on his reputation right now. Would it be crushing to start Rittich for a game instead of him?
Yeah, I'd be okay with Johnson as our #1, and Rittich as his backup. Gillies was better before he got his hip fixed. Tree may have his eye on another #1 though.
Rasmus has been quietly having an excellent season, with 31gp 2g 16a +18. Can anyone comment on how he's looked, the role he's been playing and if fitness is still a concern?

Guy missed basically an entire year. Hopefully he improves a bit in the 2nd half but a step back isn't a giant surprise the first year after a major injury.

^ Has Rittich really only played 12 games? Might be a little quick to pencil him into the Flames lineup next year.
This is an interesting point. With the new West coast division in the AHL, it might be harder to develop and/or guage goalie development due to the relaxed schedule, whereas NHL goalies are subjected to compressed starting stretches
