Does he actually play right wing? I've only ever seen him on the left side?

Looking a couple years down the road, if everyone pans out we could theoretically have a top 9 of:
Gaudreau Bennett Poirier
Baertchi Monahan Colborne
Granlund Backlund Ferland
(sub in Klimchuk, Jankowski)

ALL left-harded shots. Is there any precedence for this? Obviously not ideal, but is it detrimental?

CCCP teams under Tikhonov (maybe before him, too?) were allegedly all left-shooting.

I like him and think he can be a key member to the team for years to come playing on the third line and sometimes sneaking down to the second line. I don't think he's skilled enough to be a consistent top 6 player, but the bottom 6 is a very important role for any team and I think he can be a factor there.

Not to mention Mason Raymond, Glencross and Hudler could all still be around. We should convert Wideman to a forward.

I have always loved Ferland since we drafted him and been high on him. Believe he will be an impact player for the Flames in the future. His mix of skills makes me so excited to have a player like him.

He's good, and shows potential, but let's not get carried away here.

IF he brings his mean streak and a improved work ethic to training camp the skys the limit for him. I've been high of Ferland since the Flames drafted him because I saw him as that pocket power forward. Not huge but with good hands good skills and a bonifide I don't like to be touched mean streak.

I've been up and down on Ferland since he was drafted. My main concern was that he'd end up being Ryan Howse 2.0 and just wasn't dedicated enough to reach the NHL.

Thankfully he's proved me wrong in the past year and I expect to see Ferland playing with great intensity regardless if it's a drill, scrimmage or pre-season game.

Ok, we will see if he shows up at camp because that is all he would have to do, Jones is terrible.

No he's not, he is tied with Hudler as being the best paid forward. Surely that should mean something .

I cannot approve of Ferland's faux-hawk.

I think Ferland plays similar to Prust. If that's what we get out of him I'd be more than happy.
I was very disappointed when we traded Prust away..... Twice.

Far better hands and vision than Prust. Prust is a mucker where as Ferland has the potential to be a point producing power forward.

For sure he has more potential than Prust but also I don't think it would be a disappointment if he turned into another Prust.
